The mufassireen write Azar was his uncle who raised him and the Abu was used to refer to the uncle. Just as the bani Israil used it in the Qur'an. And Ibrahim stopped praying for the abu, yet prayed for his walidayn (birth father and mother). People need to stop insulting the parents of Ibrahim (alyhissalaam)
@belal.assaad Жыл бұрын
Brother, the evidence is in the text of both the Quran and authentic Hadith. Quran says ‘he said to his father Aazar’ . In Sahih Bukhary (3350) prophet Mohammed pbuh clearly mentioned him like this, ‘Ibrahim will meet his father Azar on the day of judgement’….till end of the Hadith…’and he will be thrown in the fire’. In Surat Maryam we see Ibrahim as clearly saying ‘…when he said to his father O my father why do you worship the idols…O my father, O my father, O my father..’ 4 times in each new verse. The verses and the clearly authentic Hadiths say it unequivocally as ‘his father’. There needs to be an evidence from the Quran or Hadith to say otherwise, otherwise it is taken as it clearly appears in the Arabic language. Secondly, this is not an ‘aqeedah (belief) issue, it is an ijtihad (scholarly educated conclusion). It is not a matter of blasphemy as you have alluded to. It is also not unusual that some prophets had disbelieving parents, disbelieving children (like Nuh as), disbelieving spouses like Lut and Nuh as and so on… no one is insulting the prophets, but stating the words of Allah and His Messenger.
@yourstruly5706 Жыл бұрын
@belal.assaad Brother, I know what you're saying, I think you missed what I am saying. I said the word Abu is also used for Uncle in Arabic. The word Walid is exclusive to the father as it is about the one who is associated with your birth. That's why God uses lam yalid wa lam youlud to remove any doubt or physical association with himself. However, the problem is that the word abu and variations are used for uncle. The dictionary on Quranic Istilahaat called Al-Mufradaat (the Arabic one, the English one is doctored) confirms that it is one of the types of uses of the word. Allamah ibn Kathir is a hafiz of hadith and a he confirms, in his tafsir, Azar was Ibrahim's (alayhissalaam) uncle who raised him. He was also ware of the hadith in Bukhari given that he was a hafiz and quotes the sahi quite a lot, yet they didn't sway his stance and he didn't refer to him as the walid of Ibrahim (peace be upon him). And that is the stance of other mufassireen. You see, the problem increases because the Qur'an says Ibrahim stopped praying for his Abi when he realised he was an enemy of God. Yet we have Ibrahim (peace be upon him) praying for his walidayn (parents who birthed him) after he completes the Ka'aba. And he completed the Ka'aba in his old age since he prayed for his sons Ismail and Ishaaq before making that dua for his walidayn. The argument from the rational perspective becomes contradictory because it assumes he didn't realise Azar (a mushrikh) was the enemy of God say for another 30 or so years) at the very least. That is an absurd view to assume and hold about a Prophet (peace be upon them). It is insult to a Prophet (peace be upon them) rooted in a misunderstanding. Fe eman Allah. Assalaamu alaykum.
@belal.assaad Жыл бұрын
@@yourstruly5706 that is incorrect. Ibn Katheer did not say Azar was prophet Ibrahim’s uncle. Review Ibn Kather’s tafserr of the verse, also Ibn Jarir at-Tabari, Ibn Ishaq, and the majority of mufassiroon, that the difference of opinion was ether his name was Azar or Tarih or Tarikh, and wether Azar was a nickname. But the major mufassiroon, including Ibn Katheer reference that he was indeed his father and was a disbeliever by quoting the Hadith in Bukhari. I m aware of the Arabic mustalah that Ab (father) can mean other than that, just like ‘Um (uncle), or Ukh (brother) and even Walad (my son) to mean metaphorically etc. but you need a Qareen (an evidence to say otherwise from the literal and apparent text). There is an explanation to Ibrahim’s du’a which requires a longer thread. But it is clear from both the Quranic text, Hadith text and majority of the classical and major mufassiroon that he was indeed his father and who was a disbeliever. Allah knows best z
@belal.assaad Жыл бұрын
@@yourstruly5706 the idea that the parents of prophets are never disbelieves is the belief of the Rafidah (Shi’a). As far as I know, they are the main ones who say Azar was the uncle, not the father in order to swerve away from the belief that his father was a disbeliever. Perhaps you may be referring the them or mixing it with their interpretation?
@yourstruly5706 Жыл бұрын
@belal.assaad No, that's incorrect. Ibn Kathir and the major mufasiroon held the view that Azar wasn't his biological father. It's mentioned his bidayah wan nihayyah. Not even Imam Tabari supports your view. He narrates several things and then gives the view I mentioned. And he repeats it in his tarikh. I'm not sure which versions you're reading, perhpahs there's some error there. I have seen problems with abridged versions. In fact, none of the major mufassireen support the view you mentioned. Not even Imam Razi. Ibn Ishaq doesn't have sanad and also narrates spurious accounts in general. Although I've not come across this specific instance, I can't comment on it. At least you know there are numerous types of uses. There's no way to explain the dua, except to say a Prophet (peace be upon him) didn't realise that Azar (a mushrikh) was the enemy of God, not even into his old age. Even though God says he stopped praying for him when he realised he was his enemy. Especially given that God says it's not fitting for the Prophet or the believers to ask forgiveness for the polytheists. Therefore, the only sound conclusion is that his walidayn were his parents, and Azar sas his Ab (not real father). Allahu alam. Not everything that goes against your personal held beliefs is a rafidah belief, even if they are correct here. The rafidah and ahlus sunnah share many beliefs and disagree on some issues. That kind of extremism (dislike merely based upon association) is unnecessary. It is what birthed the rafidah the khwairj and the nasbis. It is what births the ultra zealots. It even infected ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah), who started to deny sound hadith on fadhail of ahlal bait. Ahlas sunnah is balanced and the middle path. This is going to turn into a pointless back and forth. This is my last response. I ask you to reconsider your stance. Salaam.
