I have many magical memories of the Copland Road end from the 70s. Derby days were electric, 70,000 plus, with Celtic fans filling the Broomloan terrace and the rest of the ground decked red, white and blue.

Behind the tv are vertical supports for the roofs. The black beams on top show the horizontal support.

@@dereklawson945 What they should do then is add verticle individual trusses that we see at Hampden, the piggery, Murrayfield ect. Redesign the roof so we can allow the corners to be filled. That would work.

@@crs2385 extend upper deck of Copland and broomloan by building outwards and continuing gradient. Then reprofile roof so that it slopes upwards toward the rear of new extension as opposed the current flat roof. A bit like the club deck roof.

@@dereklawson945 Aye that would be an idea. Here are they no currently looking at plans to expand the ground atm? I'm sure i heard. I think it's essential we do. There's a 15,000 waiting list for folk wanting to get in, and Ibrox just isn't big enough for the demand.

Yes as the previous poster said, We could raise the capacity to 60.000 and it would make the stadium look better, not to mention the extra income generated. I hope the club start a consultation with a good engineering firm and make this happen. Ibrox is still a lovely stadium just now though.

Strange to think, when you see the very old original and very early 1870s-80s photos of Ibrox, that about half that crowd of rangers supporters would later become Celtic supporters. But for that short time were United in support of their common team.

It was red yellow brown and blue coloured seats. It was designed that way back when the stadium was redeveloped. To do with differing prices depending on the coloured section you were in.
