Correction: The tooltip is a little bit misleading in regards of curing books. In your example you would need a skil that is effective against Infections and (on top of that) you need to provide 7 Moth. That means the skill doesnt have to provide Moth. In fact curing a book provides you with an associated material useful in crafting recipes alongside the cured book. I would highly advise to quarantine corrupted books early in the game, bruteforcing if necessary but curing all of them when associated Numen are at your disposal. Rereading books for memories is a core component and always watching out to not use specific soul fragments in order to not struck a melady is tiresome. Edit: Forget to mention that you don't have to provide the points for curing and solving the book. Curing a book is an entire different process than solving the for example 12 Grail Challenge.

Also, curing has nothing to do with reading. In this example, You don't need moth and grail at the same time. You just need a skill against infestation, and a memory+soul+tool/ink that reaches moth 7 (if your infestation skill does not have moth)

There's some gudes out there but sufficit it so say the answer is multiple paragraphs long. You need 2 of the same soul element, a committed skill that provided the same soul element, and a workstation that matches the wisdom that skill is committed too. I think there might be more I've only done it once 😂

Any tips for new librarians? I'm still early but feel like I can't read books because I don't have the right skills / memories but can't get skills / memories because I can't read the books I've catalogued. I feel like an illiterate librarian lol Should I just stop reading and spend money to hire ppl to open up more of the house in hopes of finding at least 1 book I can read? Or is there another avenue I've completely missed? I know I can wait for the right weather, but the only weather I've seen is sunny and rainy which gives level 2 in aspects I neither have the skills or related soul pieces for so I'm still stuck there.

If you are struggeling reading the current books at your disposal open up new rooms is the right intention :) In my eyes there are 2 "important" things: 1. Lessons can be lost under certain circumstances and the game warns you about it. So make use of them while you can. 2. Dont rush filling out the skill tree. Some skills like languages cant be used in crafting so its best to allocate them as level 1 skills. On the other hand I have to remark to dont stress about it too much, since its not necessary to complete the game. Bonus advice: Take risks, have fun and read EVERYTHING

You can also use desks to read and catalog books. This let's you a) do more at once, and b) gives you an extra slot to squeeze in something for a little extra aspect, like the astrolabe for sky books.
