I was blessed to hear her play this concert tonight at the wonderful Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow closing a night of celebration for Shostakovich’s 150th birthday, with Aleksandr Bakharev on the trumpet, and Arsenty Trachenko directing the excellent National Chamber Orchestra “Moscow Virtuosi”. A night to remember!

Brilliant execution of the 1 Shostakovich concerto, whose music is more actual now than ever! Anna Tsybuleva is fabulous ! As a former pioneer-girl she knows exactly what is this music about. Strong and fragil, alert and clever, as a taut string from the start to the end Anna is a heartbeat of this concerto. Her fusion with the orchestra is resulting in almost visible electricity! And the trumpet-solo is fantastic! Great perfomance ! 💐💐💐

Anna Tsybuleva is for me a relatively new acquaintance, first I met her in Shostakovich´s second and now in his first. And what an acquaintance! As I have became more of a friend with Shostakovich´s piano conserts I have also been more of a friend with Anna and her playing. So thank you Anna for your always so good interpretations!

The clearest phrasing of any performance I know of of this concerto. Although the trumpet part in this work is too economical, the Cyrill Sandoz's rendition is impeccable. IMHO, the Shostakovich Piano Concertos by Anna Tsybuleva are already the best reference.

Clean as a whistle and perfect technique at all times. I decided to test this youtube video, just for a minute of two, just to see how she measured up. I ended up listening to the whole thing and thinking this just about the best performance of that concerto I have ever heard. - David Lyga

A very unusual double concerto and it works so well. There are many passages that are a forerunner to Shostakovich's Second Piano Concerto written in the late 50's. As usual Anna is both wonderful invigorous and lyrical sections. In all the performances that I have heard on you tube, her soft playing is matched by only a few performers. Bravo! Richard Cahn. Love this! My first introduction to Shostakovich's music was his famous second waltz. Some time later, I came across his fugues through Smalin's videos. Now this double concerto for piano and trumpet. Once again, love this!
