You can no longer drop pod exotics. You have to build the orbital exchange interface now. It adds quite a significant amount of time to this.

I understand this is 6 months old, but Im brand new to the game, and this guide seems that in order to earn these special currencies i already need some special currencies... Which is a chicken and egg situation Or can this be done as a level 3 character who has only what a brand new level 4 character has, ie: stone tools and no special help from currency based purchases? Maybe with a number of new players coming since they added Open World, and the Steam Winter Sale, maybe its time for some new guides?

This mission does require at least level 10 to complete now because of the change they made to extracting exotics, in order to extract exotics you now need to have the short range radio and the orbital exchange interface. You'll need to craft some basic resources like a furnace and crafting bench to get iron ingots to make the exchange interface. No workshop Items are needed to complete this mission although they do make it easier. I do have some new videos in the works currently which should be coming out soon but hopefully this helped. :)

@@TVTray So the "orbital exchange interface" is needed to send the exotics back up and thus not walk all the way back, right? The "short range radio" is needed for what? I have only done the first mission and the "short range radio" isn't working in it (I thought it only works in Open World). "Stone furnace" is needed to get iron ingots from mined iron, I get that part. Crafting bench to obviously make the "Stone furnace". U should update this... CAN NOT send back exotics without an orbital exchange interface, Crafted in the Workbench, it requires 7 Iron Ingots & 7 Copper Ingots, so you will have to hit 1 cave in addition to this video Each Time

@@mysterz3r0 In the week 28 patch they added a feature to stop players items from falling through the ground by teleporting the player and items to the last point where they were "safe". The unintended consequence of this is that unstucking back your your dropship no longer works

@@TVTray That is an interesting interpretation, but it is clear that "unstucking" to get a free ride home was what was actually "unintended." Correcting the unstuck feature to function as intended cannot honestly be considered as an "unintended consequence" of the update. Things are now as they should be and you'll have to travel back to the dropship by normal means. This makes the this mission a 30 minute run instead of a 15 minute run and is still the best way to accumulate some exotics when you have no workshop items yet. Once you are equipped well enough, the Migrating Sands mission pays better exotics (150 if you play in hard difficulty which is not really hard once you know how to kill the worm) for about the same 30 minutes of work. These two missions are truly the only reliably fast routes to accumulate exotics.

@Google YT You are correct in saying unstuck wasn't intended to be a free ride home, and I'm aware of that but I figured I should let people know in the comments because at the time of making the video unstuck was the fastest method to get exotics. Currently deep vein extraction can be done in roughly 12-15 minutes when using workshop gear making about 300 exotics per hour and migrating sands can also be done in about 10 minutes (assuming hard+hardcore) producing 1200 exotics per hour with workshop gear. I do appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment, if you have any questions or anything else let me know and ill try to answer them!😀

@@TVTray I was not looking for any answers 😀but I appreciate your reply to my comments. There is nothing wrong with exploiting flaws in the game ("remove from prospects" will also soon be unexploitable). However, I do not find that to be a very enjoyable approach. Personally, I prefer strategic approaches and I also like very much to change up my strategies for multiple mission runs. For example, including exotic drilling in missions is the intended means of exotics accumulation and at some point you have to choose "sport" over "profit." If you already have enough workshop inventory to grind these missions for exotics then how much more exotics do you really need? The idea of grinding "1200 per hour" or any such mindlessly repetitive pursuit seems pointless. I already have far more exotics than I need to spend in order to enjoy the game. If your goal is simply to speed run these exotic grinds in faster and faster times, then you have fun with that. However, you can only spend so much at the workshop and the rest won't buy you any groceries to bring home. Having said all that, I do feel that these two missions are very reasonable and honest ways for the average player to get a few nice bumps in their exotics wallet. The 30 minute time frames I mentioned are very realistic and not overly stressful for the average player who may not want to invest a whole lot of effort and time to develop speed running status. There is an awful lot of game to play here 😀.

Fixed I believe...tried this once and you can not put the exotics on the ship anymore...eliminating this as an option anymore...:(

Typically there are five bears on route to the exotics cave but sometimes you get lucky and only see 2-3

Really, you say level 4 character and you ran through it with a level 48 character??? Also, you stated it doesn't need any workshop items ... yet you tell them to get a MCX Pickaxe, a suit with at least one module slot, and one or two speed modules. Those cost 425 credits in the work shop, no way you're going to have 425 credits as a forth level character!! Let's see a video of you running that mission with a level four character.

I'm just going to assume you didn't watch the video because that is a level 4 character. The level 48 character is in the bottom right as a demonstration with workshop items. and as far as not using workshop items, you don't need any. I used basic cheap tools because I recommend them not because I needed them. and lastly, by the time you unlock Deep Vein Extraction (the 5th mission available to the player) you can very easily afford 425 Ren worth of workshop items. I watched the whole thing, otherwise I wouldn't have known you had a level 48 character towards the end. Now that that's clear, you seem that you overlooked the other part of my comment. A new player, wouldn't have the credits to buy the items, your forth level character had equipment that a new player wouldn't have. Lets see you do the run through with a new 4th lvl character, without the gear, a true 4th level character. The only way you could have a character at forth level, would be to create one after you had unlocked the missions with a higher level character, who had already researched and earned enough credits to buy the items. Your video is misleading and deceptive, as no new player with a forth level character could even access that mission.

@@coalsilvermuzzle3111 So I think the problem you're talking about is shared missions, items, and currency. You're correct in saying that I probably wouldn't have deep vein extraction unlocked as a level 4 character and to be transparent I didn't buy those items on my level 4 character, but by the time you do unlock deep vein extraction you would be able to afford the items I used in my run especially if you're taking advantage of harder difficulties that can pay double for missions. I did also say at 0:42 that I was doing a run with a leveled character at the bottom right. The reason I had the the mission unlocked is because missions are shared between character(which I have multiple of) and Items/currency are also transferable between characters. That really is a level 4 character I used to do that run in fact I made that character specifically for it. The point I'm trying to make in the video is that the run can be done very easily on any level character. And if you do happen to be a higher level than 4 when you unlock deep vein extraction the mission should be that much easier One last thing, chances are people aren't finding this video before they've already unlocked deep vein extraction, and if they are they will have to do the missions, giving them an extra chance to buy the equipment I used. That is why I made a list of the items in the first place so it could help lower the time that the run requires.

@@TVTray Well I did, lol. The reason I said it was misleading, it gives the impression that it can be done easily by a new low level character or a new player. This is not the case, but even though it can be done with a low level character. But why would someone, when they must have a high level character in their list? I look at these videos to help me progress a little easier to earn credits and else what. But if I have a high level character, who has already progressed through it, why bother. But hey, you baited another view, that was the point anyways, right?

@@coalsilvermuzzle3111 I see where you're coming from, but the point Isn't to Not use the high level character if you have one, its to say that it can be done on a low level character that has very little or no workshop Items/perks. I remember the first time I did this mission it took me like 3 hours, then 1 hour, and eventually I got the time down to 5:18 as I learned the game, I get that a low level character will be a lot harder but the more you progress the faster this gets, and now I hold the world record for this run. So hopefully by making this video I passed on some knowledge to newer people getting into Icarus and I can save them some time grinding. And while views are nice, I care about making content that's actually helpful to the people who watch it so I can hopefully grow my channel and help more people that enjoy the same games that I do. Wait what level is your character that has the whole survival talent tree unlocked ? I thought talent points capped at lvl 50 and I'd never get enough points to get good stuff. I'm lvl47 and have most important ones for survival and speed but other two trees are completely empty.

Unstuck does not work for deep vein extraction anymore, this is actually a very recent change and I'm actually working on an update video right now on a new start that doesn't require unstuck

yes, the 4 spawn locations are always in the same spot. Make sure you get the cave spawn first otherwise the other three wont spawn👍

With one ic001 extractor and two biofuel extractors, while the first one is doing its job, i'm making those biofueled, and i'm getting 300 plus in one hour on "Argos exploration". That is my way. Now i'm trying to get three ic001 exctractors to do it even faster.

did you collect the exotics in the cave first? The exotics node in the cave needs to be collected before the other three will spawn, if you did already get the cave one I'm assuming its just an unfortunate bug.

What do you need the exotics for? New to the game

The workshop in the station has gear that you can bring to the planet like better pickaxes and armor, the workshop items also has special perks sometimes like decreased stamina use or something like that. Anyways the gear in the workshop can cost Ren and Exotics which are the in game currency :)
