As always I want to give thanks to RAPOR for his maps. Men of War saga is one of the best real time game in history although sometimes GEM editor has a serious lack of items to recreate maps based on the eastern front, in particular the Soviet Union.I mean urban and country side buildings.

_..there are no battles 'from the Russian side', they died Failing to hold Stalingrad (or trying to take it back in '42)> that's why Allied Propaganda hides them and focuses on the '43 winter, instead of the last months of '42 where Axis enters the center of Stalingrad in the first week, then raids the northern (heavy industrial) sector within Days.. which will be used for the entire remaining autumn and mid winter to defend Conquered, Fallen Stalingrad.. Against the Entire Red Army, which knew they had been humiliated.._ *by Hardcore Nazis (and their armies of allied Nationalists)* ✓✓ _(why do you think Chuikov had his General HQ in a hole, dug up in the shores of the Volga, hiding like rats with their little Katyushas, while even a medium rank 'Oberleutnant' central to this mission played here, had AN AirField to regroup from the front lines to more defensible positions.. the Last Airfield of Liberated Stalingrad fell as late as January 25 '43.. until then, Göering airlifted the injured out, and flew in tons of supplies for the 6th Army.. though a heavily contested and unpopular AirForce Marschall, he DID support the 6th Army at Stalingrad, after the Liberation, during the entire Defense.. until von Paulus surrendered, out of spite against Hitler, when his HQ had been reached by Redarded Hordes on 31 Jan..)_ *They should have just abandoned the encircled positions west of Stalingrad (the flank where romanians were targetted by Operation Uranus) and retreated INTO Stalingrad (where defense was Best) then pushed into the eastern shore instead, to overrun the medium & heavy artillery cannons, as well as the anti-tank cannons they hid on the island (since Germans already had the entire city by then).. aNd CapTuRe thOse tO uSe tHem iN tHe DefEnsE oF LiberaTed Stalingrad.. Which Would Have bought them enough time to hold out until Spring, when Manstein was about to break the encirclement of the 6th Army..* ✓✓ So, main mistake of Paulus was staying pointlessly on the Wrong river bank.. if Soviets had been pushed back to the East Bank (to encircle them), Manstein could have gotten a Lot closer than just 48 km of Stalingrad.. and brought the Relief Forces to strengthen the Defensive Stronghold.. The Most Defensive Battle of Axis was at Stalingrad (most others were Offensive or general randomness, or repositioning to more defensible lines, in face of enemy swarms which were meant to suffocate the first lines, while sacrificing countless Redarded idiots, which died for Nothing.. if you look at the Victories of the Axis the Allies could never replicate or mimic.. Stalingrad was a HUGE Defeat for Allies.. Ironically it's being 'touted' as Propaganda Masterpiece by Soviets, who NEVER EVEN HELD THE CITY ANYMORE, By that point.. (nor did they hold it by the time Axis conquered it from West Bank) Hitler was kind of a pleb, dividing forces by sending most of them (except the 4th Panzer Armee) south to secure the Caucasus, and saw Stalingrad as a "secondary objective" that was "strictly defensive".. when it was The Main Objective (All Along), since Humiliting Stalin directly (by Conquering Stalingrad.. "Stalin's City") meant the Redarded Horde was to be sacrificed trying to "Take It Back".. to Later DENY they had ever Lost it to Axis.. and "Accept Gifts" at Yalta, like the "Sword of Stalingrad", which brags over a 'Defense' that never EVEN EXISTED!! *If you Had Half a Neuron, you'd have used it to see this is a DEFENSIVE.. GERMAN-AXIS MISSION.. I don't see Any "defending russians", Do You?!?* _Pleb._
