A goofy mute character with his own unique trait, a flexible body design that can get squished and distorted in all manners, one simple goal in life and all kinds of actually funny situations. Scrat is perfect in every way and, may I say, defines the success of whoever uses his character formula.

I think the early clips are way better, even if the animation itself is worse. The ideas are original, the scene is well paced and hilarious, and a big plus compared to the "Scrat goes Nutty" scene for example that there is no background music at all, just the effects. As a kid I absolutely loved Ice Age, but as more and more movies came out on the hind waves of the success of the first one, the whole thing became kind of overblown, obnoxious and progressively more and more unfunny. If I would watch any of these now, I would definitely watch the original (intentionally not "the first") and maybe the second one, the rest is just meh

From 2006-2014, I had a dog named Tucker, who was a Cairn Terrier. He reminded me of Scrat a lot due to his gold fur and some of the noises he made. He would also sniff around like Scrat. Sadly he passed away at the age of 8. He was an amazing dog and companion and I miss him dearly.
