Most likely not, the directors of the series said their story doesn’t set up the next film. While the new movie is canon to the 2010 film, cobra Kai won’t involve the characters from 2010 or the new film.

Unless you become the next twenty million per picture Keanu Reeves, a career and a steady pay check as an actor is hard and I sure hope Ralph Macchio and William Zabka save and invest their earnigs from this show because I get the feeling this is the last time they will work in Hollywood on any major project. Don't get me wrong, I like them both. In their case lightning struck twice but I wouldn't bet on a thrid because sooner or latter theis 80's nostalgia is ging to end and aftere all, they are kind of type cast. While Ralph Macchio was reportedly payed a millinon each for the first two seasons, it sounds like a lot but after taxes and everthing else actors pay, he probably clears 600k. I think about how many times I've seen William Zabka in a movie or a show since the 80's and I don't recall ever. Even Ralph Macchio dropped off after My Cousin Vinny in the 90's. My net worth is close to tree million and I'm just a regular Joe who worked for over three decades and even with a net worth like this, I can't spend it or I'd be back to work. I have to make it work for me by earing dividends, interest and capital appreciation. I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful but I know today's hollywood is even harder than twenty years ago. I sure hope they know how to invest well.
