Yeti advertises the Flip as a day cooler. I have had my Flip 18 for 2 years and in Texas heat I can get about 24 hours ice even with a pre chill. Keep in mind it's hot as hell when we take it out to the pool. Doesn't leak and tough as nails. I think it's worth its price.

Why I own the 12 :). Nice size for me I’m in Phoenix, I know what you mean by hot as hell. This was a cool week for us in August. I know if I pre chilled and used more ice or chilled drinks & put them in it’d go further. I think some of the critical comments here fail to understand what 05+ really means Its so hot here even our tap water is hot this time of year

@@gearsNtools Man i'm from AZ too. Do you recommend the flip or the roadie for daily use?

Can the hopper be used as a lunch bag

I have the hopper 12 and I’ve used it as a lunch bag for the past 7 months works amazing for that

Did you pre-cool them?
@gearsNtools2 ай бұрын
Nope but I treated the same I’m sure pre cooling would’ve helped the roadie more than the hopper

Interesting comparison. Neither cooler did well, at least in light of their high cost.
@dj6P5U2 ай бұрын
that’s because a lot of the ice melted to bring the internal temp of the cooler down to match its temp. if he dumped out the ice and put new ice in it, it would certainly last a LOT longer, which is why they recommend pre chilling

Yeah I thought they’d go 2 days + It was only 6lbs of ice total & 105 out side Probably worst case senario
@gearsNtools2 ай бұрын
True But I didn’t want to waste that much ice on a test. The main goal here was to see how the 2 did compared to each other

@@gearsNtools Those are some brutal elements. I recently bought a RTIC Ultra 45 wheel cooler and with 45 drinks, 20 lbs of ice it lasted 60 hours. I thought that was good since it was 101, no shade, opened multiple times, not always closed with the latches etc.

They both did as advertised... his test was incredibly flawed. 😎
