I respect the list C Jay. I would say AMW or Death Certificate would be at the top spot for my list but Laugh Now, Cry Later has tons of bangers on there. The best soundtrack for Cube is Friday hands down. Cube’s sleeper movie is XXX - State of the Union truly dope movie. Great list

I’m not going to lie, when I saw Death Certificate at number two and LNCL at number one, I yelled out “hell no!!” at the tv lol. It’s a good album but no way in hell is that his best work. It’s number 4 at best behind DC, AMW, and Predator. I place it above Lethal Injection which I’d put at number 5. I appreciate the curve ball 😂

Number 1 for me is AMW! I say this because if you look at all the pressure on him to make a dope solo album. The album received 5 mics, if I'm not mistaken, and broke first week record sales at the time. The death certificate would be number 2 for me. My summer vacation is one of the top ten rap songs ever created. A movie could be made off the lyrics alone.

Its the first cassette album i ever brought. I remember I went out and brought it right after reading the SPIN Magazine article with him on the cover (I had never heard of him, and didn't care about NWA). I was a huge fan of Public Enemy, so he mentioned how the Bomb Squad would be producing his solo effort I was damn intrigued!! Boy, that shiiiiii did not dissappoint!! Cause i was blown away.

Respectable list. I haven't listened to Laugh Now, Cry Later yet so I can't comment on that, might listen to it pretty soon. I agree with Ice Cube being underappreciated, he does get his flowers here and there but I don't he gets enough credit. When I bought Death Certificate in 91 No Vaseline wasn't on the tracklist.Jerry got a court injunction or something. However was fortunate enough to visit the USA and purchased the cassette album. Appreciate this list, and the love shown to Laugh Now, Cry Later, a real gem from the second part of Cube's rap career, which mostly gets dismissed, because most stopped checking for him after those wack War & Peace albums. Anyhow, no way is Laugh Now number one in his catalogue. That's either AMW or Death Certificate, two of the most important albums in hip hop history. No real beef with the rest of the order here, except I'd put Raw Footage above those War & Peace albums and Everythangs Corrupt. Raw Footage is a strong 4 mic album in my book.

DJ Muggs, who produced it, said “Cube picked that beat, and that was supposed to be an interlude on the Funkdoobiest album. But he called me, and was like, ‘Yo, you got any beats?’ So I just put everything on a cassette and went over there. And you know, when you’re playing someone beats, and you don’t like one, you hear the two first bars and start to fast forward? And he goes, ‘No, what’s that? Go back.’ And I’m like, ‘You sure?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah.’ I’m like, ‘Alright.’ But in my head I was like, ‘This beat is wack, he’s trippin’. He has the best album run in hip hop. From Straight Outta, his solo albums, work with Westside Connection and even Da Lench Mob that he had a lot to do with. Laugh Now Cry later has some brilliant songs, but I can't have it being higher than Death Cert and Predator. You criticize War and Peace Vol 1 for its lack of content but it has more content than Vol 2. And is a better album with better and more highs. I feel like with your comment about Everythang's Corrupt being one of his highest critically rated albums that you've just gone to Metacritic that isn't a good measure for an artist from the '80s. ORDER: Predator, Death Certificate, Lethal, AKW, Bootlegs & B sides, Laugh Now, War & Peace Vol 1, Kill At Will, Raw Footage, War & Peace Vol 2, I Am the West, Everthangs Corrupt.

Here is my list from fav to least fav): Death Certificate The Predator AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted Lethal Injection Raw Footage War & Peace Vol. 1 (The War Disc) Laugh Now, Cry Later War & Peace Vol. 2 (The Peace Disc) Everythang's Corrupt I Am the West Cube doesn't have a very overall strong solo discog but he has one the best album streaks in rap imo. His first 5 projects are top notch. Also if I counted Bootlegs and B-Sides that would be top 5-6.

AMW is number one for me. The immense pressure he was under after leaving NWA after everybody said he was crazy for leaving the group and to drop a masterpiece right out of the gate. The only album that could possibly be over AMW is DC. I’ve been involved in countless debates over which is better between the two. His other albums aren’t even in the same league as his first two or the Kill At Will EP.

When it comes to soundtracks involving Ice Cube, nothing beats "Trespass". Lots of great tracks from some of the dopest names in the business at the time, and several of the tracks weren't readily available anywhere else. It ranks at the very top of my personal list of hip-hop soundtracks.

Sleeper movie with Ice Cube. It has to be Three Kings alongside George Clooney and Mark Walberg in the late 90s. A gold heist set against the backdrop of the Iraq War, I saw that movie in the cinema. Ice Cube was bona fide Hollywood. Another one is "Trepass" (formerly Looters) with Ice-T. History making after their breakout roles in Boyz n' Da Hood and New Jack City respectively. I'm not surprised 2Pac had them both on his track "Last Wordz" in 1993. Pure 🔥

Everyone has an opinion and I respect yours. Ice Cube is my top 5 favorite rapper of all time dead or alive!! With that being said in my unbiased fair opinion, the only weak album Cube has Everythang's Corrupt and some are questioned but still playable. I think I know why he did that album. He gave a little hint on the breakfast club that probably didn't get noticed. And craziest as it sounds I'm not a fan of Lethal Injection that much either (and yeah most people consider that a classic but I felt like you could hear him running out of steam), I really think people are sleeping on War & Peace Vol. 1 10. “The Predator” is probably my favorite Ice Cube album, even though I’d readily admit that “AmerKKKa’s Most Wanted” and “Death Certificate” are much better, objectively speaking. (Random trivia note: It’s also Leonardo DiCaprio’s favorite Cube album, as he told Q-Tip in a 2014 interview.) I like it because it was arguably the last album where he tried to be political and conscious, before he jumped on the G-Funk bandwagon with “Lethal Injection” and became basically just another West Coast gangsta rapper. (Which is not to say that all of his later work sucked; it just never measured up to his first three classic albums.)

I remember being kind of disappointed with Laugh Now, Cry Later when it came out, but after listening again, it's a lot better than I remember.
