Calling them indian is just flatout incorrect, and is just confusing especially now that there are so many actual indians moving to Canada. I remember as a kid we were told the term "native" was incorrect and to instead say "aboriginal". When I told my dad he just said "Ah is that what they are calling us now". At the end of the day all of these terms are trying to beat around the bush of calling them what they actually are, which is Canadians.
