A 40/20 is when someone kicks the ball from behind the 40 meter line and it bounces out inside the opposite teams 20 meter line. If you get a 40/20 you get the ball back from where it goes out. When you have the ball in hand you get 6 tackles. The 5th thing you were mentioning means that they’ve already been tackled with the ball 5 times. At the 5th tackle the team with the ball will kick the ball 95% of the time. If you get tackled with the ball for a 6th time you have to give the ball back to the other team from where you got tackled. 5 metres means that the team with the ball ran forward 5 metres from the time they received the ball up to that 5th tackle.

In the old old days, teams on the last tackle would just accept the last tackle rule and have to hand the ball back. At some point someone must have said "if I'm giving the ball back after the 6th tackle, I'm going to try to make it happen in the opposition's half, not mine. So it common place now that 99% of the time, every team usually kicks downfield on the last tackle. Occasionally teams may run on the last play if they see opposing wingers or fullback retreating to expect a kick.
