Ice Skating Tips for Beginners

Way back when I was stationed in Germany. Went to an ice skating rink with some friends. I learned how to balance and started skating. Was doing pretty good and started Flying around the rink. Thought I was all cool and stuff. Came around the corner and there were two tiny kids in front of me, holding hands, and skating together. (I didn't know how to Stop) I'm yelling, in English, 'MOVE!' They got scared when they saw me barreling toward them and just hugged each other closer, waiting for the impact. So, I threw myself to the ice and slid straight into them, scooping them up, safely, and carried them on either lap to the wall where we finally came to a stop. They jumped up laughing, but my heart was pumping. I know how to stop now! Thanks for this video!

My son decided he wanted to play ice hockey, even though he had never skated of any kind. So we started with roller skates which he mastered in about 2 weeks. Then on to roller blades. The first time he went on the ice, it's like he'd been doing it forever. He said it's definitely different but was easy to transition to

First session, oh god, I kept losing my balance in front or behind, grabbing the barrier or falling. My ankles hurt so much as well cause I keep being inward or outward

There are circular cages to balance with that prevent falls. Almost s walker for adults but we stand inside them.

It’s normal to fall your first time. While it can be frustrating, you start to get the hang of it the more you fall
