Hi, thanks for posting a really good video. I am in the process of building a recumbent for a friend with back issues and seeing your ICE trikes close up answers a coup, e of questions I had. With regards to the mud flap point. All I did with mine on my commuter/touring/pub bike was drill out the rivet, bond with Araldite rapid and re pop rivet them. 3 years on and thousands of miles no trace of looseness. Les Crook

Hi Yes I sometimes just flatten them with a hammer to tighten them up replast a black one with a leather Mudflap thats doing well.

As far as your water issue goes with your cables, maybe try using marine grease. You may have to go to a boat shop to get it. Like others have said, drill out the rivet and put in a machine screw and use a stop. It has a nylon bushing that holds onto the threads of the screw. If over time it wears out, you just get a new stop nut and put it on. You could probably even use two of them, the second one tightened up against the first one. Just a couple of thoughts that will hopefully help out. Good luck and happy cycling. Rob

Hi Rob , Excellent idea. as the winter is approaching I will give it a go?

Great info Graham, re - mudflaps. I used to cut my own out from old lorry inner tubes,cut a plastic reinforcing plate underneath the mudgaurd, drilled holes, then either nuts and bolts or use pop rivets.

Great info Graham; I would recommend drilling through the flap and blade and attaching it that way. It seems preposterous to have to purchase another blade.. I am enjoying my Sprint 26 (X sort of) immensely. Just did 30 miles the day after arriving back from China- feel great!

Hi and thanks for the comment are you a member of the London recumbent club on facebook ?

Nice fleet of ICE trikes there Graham. I also am a bit fussy about using ICE branded parts and accessories on my Sprint RS. The only exceptions are some Terracycle mounts and a Finer Recliner neck rest. I agree with you about the mudguards. I haven't lost one yet but they do get loose and cockeyed and rubbing on the tires from time to time.

Thanks Graham. I bought an ICE FullFat last year and have been very impressed with that. Still working out the traction issues though. A couple of questions: 1) What would say the speed difference is between your trikes? And 2) what affect does that Windwrap faring have on aerodynamic? Thanks.

Hi Graham, the guide wheel you mention at 1:35 seems to be incorrectly mounted. It looks like you've put the bolt through one of the five holes surrounding the centre hole! Has anyone else drawn your attention to this? It might make a difference to the sound if you change the mounting.
@stanleylee48077 жыл бұрын
Phill Lewis I noticed that also.

Yes, I noticed that it looked strange too :)

Just drill through the mudflap and fender and fit a nut and bolt to hold everything in place

Hi. Thanks for great videos. Just got myself a Sprint and i'm wondering about a few things i'm hoping you can help me with - as i want to treat it well: - What sort of lock do you use? I don't even dare to leave mine to go into a shop.. - Do you use any specific lights to be seen in daylight or just flags? If you take requests it would be nice with a maintenance video - you know; grease here, tighten here etc etc.. Regards Zlun
@1001Darkeyes9 жыл бұрын
+Zlun Hi Hope you ;like your sprint, I do not lock it as it's never out of my sight :-) I use Rechargeable moon lights and a battery Cat eye on the back I use as a daylight as well mantents, spry oil 888 is good for protecting parts and derailleurs and chain, the only thing I would pop out from time to time is the axels and greets them, when wet give it a rub dowen do not put it away wet, in the winter wash off the salt after a ride do not use washing up liquid as it takes the grease out of things ues muck off something like that Hope that helps

Thanks that really helps. I really really like the bike. But I've found that the dealer has done a sloppy job putting it together - especially the cable work isn't very good. So i'm using the winter to go over everything. I seem to remember watching one of your videos where you, for lack of better words, seal your cables using this little "end-bit-thing". But I can't find this video again..! Where you the one working magic or is my memory failing me and it was someone else..?

Beautiful trikes, great review with nice tips! I am riding an ICE QNT, but I want to sell it and buy a newer generation ICE, because mine isn't foldable which is unpractical when going by car or train to certain areas or countries for doing the riding there. Peace from Germany.

Hi Yes I have three and a Tandem. I have had to save up for each one and the Tandem I was helped to by by the benevolent society as I am registered as Blind! I have also been fortunate to Hold a Job, Jobs over the Years, I like to cycle its my passion my hobby so i put all I can into it you only live once and life can pass you by if you do not go out and live it.

Graham Williams Wise words. Cycling is my passion too. I have a trike (on order) and 3 other bikes. Like you say save save save. Sometimes ppl are aghast at the prices but then I ask what they might spend on booze or cigarettes over a year and all of a sudden cycling seems cheap lol. Plus I commute by bike so no petrol or parking costs. Each to their own though.

New car= £25,000+ ICE Trike £3,000-£6,500 depending on model and acc's the higher price is for an Electric motor version. For commuting Car+ Fuel, Tax, Insurance, Parking £ etc. Trike, Cycle clothes, Shoes. You tell me which would cost more over 3yrs commuting
