The new secret character for patch 0.6.1, Boon Marrabbio!

Thx for the Video, helped me unlock Boon =). I would suggest to use the "Krochi" Character and the Arcana "Mad Groove" instead though. That combo syncs really well; "Mad Groove" collects all pickups and Stage Items like "Pummarola" and "Skull O´Maniac". Also, you get all food sources collected (Pie´s excluded) and since this is one of the harder fights in the game getting that boost every 2 min helps a lot. "Krochi" has a nice Move Speed bonus (not that it´s really required on Hyper Mode with "Mad Groove") and +1 Resurrection and gets another Resurrection at lvl 33+. If you do use "Mad Groove" do NOT pick up the "Left" or "Right Metaglio" nor any of the "Silver" or "Gold Rings" early on since it will spawn some pretty hard bosses that a) will only drop golden Eggs and b) you won´t be able to kill before you are much higher level.

If the pies aren't spawning for you, just go to the area where he spawns and wait. On the map grid lines, it's on the same line as the hollow heart, but directly north of the left metaglio piece. Go to where those lined intersect and just wait. It's also worth noting that you need the yellow sign and to have picked up at least 100 floor chickens throughout your entire game. That's total as in ALL runs, not just this one. Once those requirements are met just go to the area even if the pies aren't spawning. Eventually, he will spawn. For me it was at 20 mins, but he killed me because I wasn't paying attention. Next time he spawned at 12 mins. IF THERES NO PIES, ITS OK!

No problem. I was having a hell of a time trying to figure it out and eventually decided to just wait and see what happened. I'm on Series X and I've had issues with several of the other character unlock scenarios. Cosmo for example: I fulfilled all the requirements several times but the balcony would never open and he would never show up like he should. Eventually I realized that he DID unlock, but I never did actually interact with him like other videos show. It's possible Series X just has some bugs. Anyway I saw other people mentioning that their pies weren't showing up either so I figured I'd comment and hopefully help someone out.

Thanks bud, I'm on a series x and having similar issues. Cosmo unlocked for me when I ate the nduja, which I actually gathered with mad groove so I never even went near the balcony. Picking up the "nft" is apparently the final part of the unlocking sequence.

@@pyrobob5724 yea if you watch videos, after grabbing the NFT the balcony there is supposed to open up, and cosmo spawns out at the end. You then walk up to him and he unlocks like most characters do: "the vampire is in another coffin, etc" For me though I grabbed NFT and...that was it. Nothing happened lol. But like you mentioned it DID unlock behind the scenes. I just didn't get any indication of anything happening.

I just did this tonight on accident, having the curse from the power-up screen was not necessary as mine is at zero levels. Thanks for the vid, I was trying to figure out how I got a new character lol

I find the bible and garlic helpful when you have more unpredictable weapons that you can't readily aim at the shadow. Those two are great passive damage and also negates his projectiles (The garlic does). I was able to kinda stand around and get him downin health. He died once some upgrades came in. Granted, I didn't do hyper I just played it through. Hope this helps someone

Bible and garlic are good for helping to keep you safe but are low damage so it is a trade off

@@hano5277 Found a hack. Use VIII - Mad Groove for your 11 minute Arcana, it pulls everything to you. If you haven't picked up Pummola and Cursed Skull yet to fill slots for your build, pick them up now. At 12 minutes and every 2 minutes after when it gathers everything to you the pies 🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧 will be included. Eat them up and keep leveling, after a few Mad Groove pulls you'll get all of them and the boss will arrive. Cheers.

'accidentally' kill this secret boss because i'm running Leda + gatti amari + infinite corridor combo. and the cake is actually count as both as floor chicken and the boss spawn counter so i get both strong cat and secret boss. maybe he spawn on the cat's scuffle because i dont even see him on the screen and 'unlock song' is already playing. an absolute monster of dps. But I didnt manage to kill Death because I didnt pick any laurel/crimson shroud/tiragisu. but still it was an insane run.

If a chest drops before the 10 minute mark and you wait until after 10 minutes is still wont upgrade any weapons just for future reference

Sometimes it seems that way and then sometimes I think it does evolve them, so I usually just wait just in case

Chests that drop before the 10 minute mark can't evolve things even if you wait till after :) Better to get em the second they drop to lvl/kill faster

As far as I know your weapone have to be fully leveled up and you have to wait past the 10 minute mark for them to evolve. Before that you should be able to use them for leveling up your items, not sure why you got gold

I just unlocked him without even knowing he was a secret character. I did it using Pappea. She was farming the masked people who spawn with the secret items and Boon just casually joined the farm. He took way longer than I expected to take him down, so I figured he might be special. Then the music played for winning... that same run I was able to take down 4 deaths at once via Pappea's evolved weapon, the holy bottle evolution, the crimson cloak, a normal clockwork lance, and the flower weapon. I went into that little flower hedge and the flower weapon bounced like crazy in there. Note, I was level 114 when the deaths spawned, so i didn't actually expect to make a dent in them. Btw, I also just beat the final boss for Great Gospel by using Boon. I just afked in a tunnel and his knives essentially protected him the entire round do to how slow they are. I used the card to summon items all around me every 2 minutes and the pentagram to delete all my exp when it spawned. I didn't know there would be a boss at the end of that, I just was trying Boon out. Ngl, Boon reminds me of Dio from JoJo.

@@IcebergGaming265 Well after 6 runs I got so frustrated, I just figured I would eat until I explode after the last pie had disappeared. So I started running around going after braziers to get chickens... i can't say if that was the key but after a few chickens it finally appeared. But I'm glad I'm never gonna have to do that again. I thank you for the hint that the more I eat the fewer pies will appear without that I probably would have made the same mistake over and over again (for some reason if you follow them instantly they disappear earlier). I think boon is absolutely hillarious was totally worth the fails!
