Holy hell, this was intense. I usually just listen / half watch D&D sessions while I work or do something else. Not possible with icebound. I was on the edge of my seat for 2 hoursand 52 minutes. The time and effort that Derek put into creating this campaign show unmistakably. It is truly worthy of being called his magnum opus.

The moment Derek revealed that Mr. Stonebridge (the first wendigo) was the captain’s son, I kid you not I was physically screaming at him for being an asshole and that is how good you are at telling these stories. For me to have felt that and have to physically mute myself so I didn’t disturb my family over my screaming is just GOLD. Props to you, Derek!

So i think it's important that Derek knows that what he has done is art. I watch witch light to but stop every once in a while as it's a little too silly at times. What this campaign is, though, is absolute art. He plays a little loosey goosey with the rules, but in the best of ways. I feel that it needs to be known that this is absolutely worth watching or listening to. I have welded for hours with this playing in my ear. So freaking good.

I think the thing for me is they’re professional actors on critical, and that takes me out when the stakes are never high and it could all be scripted. But when skrimm dies, people at work ask me what’s wrong, if I’m ok, that I look like I’m sick. That’s because I am, not only is Derek’s story amazing, the characters have grown and changed. Now only is teishen would get a little more tougher and see violence is the answer sometimes.

THIS EPISODE. I COULD RANT ABOUT. I saw this one on twitch and it may have been the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. I was terrified, moved, shat my pants more than once, this episode was just so incredibly good. It’s almost difficult to explain exactly how this episode makes me feel looking back on it, but the closest description I can give is- Like a rabid chihuahua who is so excited that they’re simultaneously pissing themselves and attacking children.

I have CHILLS! I wonder if this is called Icebound, not because of the weather of Drakkar or from the fate of the More Abound, but because my bones are bound in ice by this plot lmaooo🥴

So it appears their magic is being blocked somehow. Queenie's bees are weaker, Barnabos can't talk to his lover, and when Skrimm and Jornir trying to directly tap into their magic they nearly die. Not great for a group comprised almost entirely of spellcasters 😅
