I mean I knew of D&D but after months of binge watching Edge of Midnight, Stardust Rhapsody, BDW, UnRooted, a bunch of their one shots, I so freakin badly wish I had a bunch of friends to play D&D with. It always peaked my curiosity but the LOA team has fueled a deep desire to create an amazing story with amazing camaraderie. There was a point in this session, the part where Rich is asking Derek what kind of roll would it be to find out if helping Barbados with magic would be cheating and just to myself I was like “wouldn’t that be insight?” And then Derek and Mikey both agreed it would be insight probably and I was so proud of myself for knowing that!

wow i have no words this episode kept me on the edge of my seat the hole way though and the ending was so smooth and just heart pulling i really hope the gang get daisy back and she doesn't get taken by the dragon. Its just amazing how everyone can get so into their characters and you can really feel the emotion that character would be feeling! Also amazing DM'ing Derek you always manage to keep us on our toes and i think this might be one of my favourite campaigns! Y'ALL. You can't cast a leveled-spell as a Bonus action, if you use an Action to cast a leveled-spell on the same turn, regardless of quickened spell! (Derek's original statement of a Cantrip working, is correct!) (Action Surge gives you a second action, which circumnavigates this RAW rule, but as far as I know off the top of my little brain that's about it!) Unless this is a merciful house ruling, Wall of Fire and Scorching Ray in the same turn is a no go. But, it was dope to see Taishen evolve into Charizard this episode! Love the show 100%!!

@@jamiehebert7376 dnd 2014 has a very bizarre ruling about casting two leveled spells in a turn, that being: “A spell cast with a bonus action is especially swift. You must use a bonus action on your turn to cast the spell, provided that you haven't already taken a bonus action this turn. You can't cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action.” Basically, if you cast a spell as an action or bonus action, you can only follow it up with a cantrip, and that does include quickened spell. However if you get an extra action like from action surge, since it is an extra action then you can cast multiple leveled spells because you only cast them as actions and didnt use a bonus action spell. In the 2024 ruling, they changed it to be a bit clearer while also nerfing action surge casting by changing the stipulation to “you can only expend one spell slot per turn” which is a reasonable caveat. It does mean however, that you can cast multiple spells on your turn as long as you cast one spell with a spell slot and any other spell with a magic item or feature.

Why did Nikkie just aggressively pretend she's never heard of a lie before? It was such a weird like, 20 minutes.
