Icecrown Citadel Heroic skip for farming Invincible (works in Dragonflight)

Actually, I did it today and it worked. First I was falling through the ground, but after I logged off and come back later it just worked, idk why. Maybe if you do that with each character and wait to kill Lich King later it can work fine

Took me 5 years to finally have it drop I can't remember how many times I downed him while originally raiding. It was years later after I started soloing it that it finally dropped. It took me 3 years to get the Blue Proto. Saw it drop on my second UP run and I missed the roll miserably. 3 years later it dropped for me again.

to clear it if you have loads of alts like me its a great method as can join kill rejoin kill rinse repeat I have 40 alts that can do it and ice crown is about 20/30 mins run normally otherwise yeah waste of time lol

If you're doing this trick during War Within just know that the trick to do the raid lockout by joining your own raid only works with alts as the same faction as the main character. You cannot do the join raid part if your alt isn't horde or alliance (the same as the main)! I learned the hard way :(

I farmed this and several other mounts for over 5 years… only ever got one of them. The Onyxian Drake was the only one I got during that time.

@@siratera3368 AFAIK that doesn't work on Heroic because Heroic uses instance based lockout, so if you share a Heroic lock then Arthas can only be killed once in it. This convoluted mess of a workaround shares a Normal lock.

This. You can get to him on one character, and then do the group trick through LFR on all other characters. Then just keep the raid lock open on that one character [so don't clear it on them] each week after. I've done it this way for literally years.

@@nervodyne So I run the raid on normal up to lich king? Leave the area with that character and create a lfg group, log off and onto the new one setting the raid to heroic and walk in is that correct?

@@nervodyne Unless they changed it again recently, upgrading the difficulty was removed in Shadowlands, and Heroic locks in ICC are instance based so if you share an 11/12 and someone else kills Arthas in it, he'll be dead in your lock and anyone you share it with.

@@OneEightZeroZero why would you have anyone else in the lockout? I feel like I'm missing something. I just always cleared 11 bosses on heroic because it's a joke to solo, started the group, logged and switched character, the group is still in there, because it doesn't drop right away at logout because of disconnects. You ask to join. Switch back, confirm add, delist. Make the new character the raid leader; leave party, leave raid. Switch back, go in, accept 11/12, and clear it. The original toon that cleared the 11 is still at 11, not problem. Not sure why they'd get locked out, they aren't even in the group anymore. This is a technique used since Draenor when they changed how groups work and lockouts are formed. The original 'clearance' character can extend his own raidlock indefinitely, and you just run everyone BUT that toon.

This would have been good to know before I got it by farming the normal way. Over 125 attempts was roughly my count, my ATT got outdated in a patch and I didnt bother updating it, of course I get the drop after disabling it so I dont know what my final tally was.

lockouts are held indefinitely, if i had to guess he just repeats the lockout strat, on the toon who has all the bosses downed, sets up lfg thing kills the first boss then joins group, and lockout is good to go again. So after the first week it probs takes 5 minutes to get to last boss every week after on every toon other then lockout toon.

This is just to let you skip your alts further ahead into the raid so you don't have to clear as much of ICC for each Arthas kill.

@@teej143 You can repeat everything starting from the alt Marrowgar kill across any number of characters, so your alts only need to kill 2 bosses to get to Arthas instead of having to clear the whole zone.
