My old Lao gf made me a grasshopper , a little cube and a hat out of reed mat as we were walking on Raythatcha island off Pattaya a few years ago . Very dexterous and clever skills that south east asian people haven’t forgotten, thanks for educating us Icecy x

So I'm trying to practice reading texts & signs & fonts that are stylized & less traditional/formal than my teachings, and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what that last letter in the Sao Changliang 2:39 sign is. My closest guess is Baaw bai-mai, but how does that make an "ng" sound? Is this one of the different dialects, so they use slightly different letters? I'm doing the country's official ไทย language (can't remember it's name), and I've only been at it for a few months (then quit for a few months, and am re-remembering everything... kinda easily actually. It's now ingrained in my head). If anyone feels like providing an answer, it would me much appreciated. P.S. Okay, the more I look at it, the more I can see it maybe being Ngaaw nguu. I can see how they made a little head at the top there, but it's the wide birth of that curve that's throwing me off. Like I said, it looks closest to Baaw bai-mai, but perhaps whatever this is made out of was just less forgiving when it came to shaping. Anyway, great videos. Can't wait to live the rest of my life in this beautiful country!

Wow this is Ubon Ratchathani It is an expression of the Isaan of Thailand. This province is the birthplace of our Isaan civilization. Very lively, it might be a bit hot. In the early evening, leisurely walks, many Lao PDR people come to visit this event as well. Isaan people are proud to be Always our northeast People who are only sincere and friendly. Our signature dishes are Som Tum, Pla Pao, Khanom Jeen, Larb Koi, not to mention. It is a local food in our region. Thank you Nong Izzy.
