Thanks, I appreciate the comment! The Westfjords do most of the work by just being beautiful. We look forward to returning sooner rather than later.

Great vlog. Have visited Iceland 4 times visiting everywhere except the Westfjords and The Highlands. One day I will visit these amazing areas.

Oh, the highlands are a destination we’d love to explore too! When you visit next hit up either the Westfjords or the highlands. The Westfjords are just so dynamic - we didn’t have enough time there. And the highlands have to be amazing for hiking. Cheers! Thanks for watching and letting me know you liked the video!

hi , am planning to travel to iceland in the first week of may next year. will a 2w drive car able to drive through west fjords? i dont plan to do any highlands. how would you rate the roads at west fjords in terms of difficulty ? in my country the steering wheel is on the right while iceland is on the left. kinda little worried how it will be driving it on left hand side when passing by mountain passes.
@getoutntravel61622 жыл бұрын
The majority of the roads will be perfectly fine with a 2w drive vehicle in May. There will be a pass or two that may still be closed, but what is open should not be a problem for you. F-Roads I’d avoid as well - as they can include river crossings or other obstacles that 4w drive would be needed. This should not disrupt your ability to get around the fjords. A good portion of roads are gravel, but have a nice width. Some spots have the “M” sign for pulling to the side if there is on-coming traffic. Some roads are steep, or have sheer cliffs with little to no railings. This can be more of a mental barrier than a driving barrier. Changing the side of the road you will drive would probably be the more difficult thing. Hoping you have great adventures there! It is amazingly beautiful!

Did you rented a 4w drive?
@getoutntravel61622 жыл бұрын
Yes. We had a small 4w drive SUV. A Suzuki, I believe. Did us well. I don’t feel anything necessitated the 4w drive, but we took it in case of potential snow on the passes. (Which there was some but the roads were mostly clear)

Thanks! It keeps me editing, photoshopping, and doing some low-key motion graphics as a hobby since I’m no longer making tv commercials

You rented a basic camper or a 4×4 ??
@getoutntravel61622 жыл бұрын
Hello Rohan, we rented a 4x4 small SUV vehicle from KEFCAR. I believe it was a Suzuki Vitara 4x4. This was more than enough as we were not traveling into the highlands and we weren't looking to camp in our vehicle either. Ragnar can do good by you at KEFCAR - looks like they might have campers too.

Hello do u know how far is the drive from reykjavic to westfjord? And what month did u visit thank you
@getoutntravel61623 жыл бұрын
Hey! I believe you can travel from Reykjavik to just about anywhere in the Westfjords (except for the extra remote areas) within 4 to 5 hours. I’d suggest taking a few stops for rests and for the beauty of the nature. Safe and pleasant travels!

Another great video! Really fun! Such a unique landscape. What were sunlight hrs when you guys were there?
@getoutntravel61623 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support! Iceland is pretty amazing with its landscape! At this point in the trip sunset started probably around uhhh 9 or 10pm but lasted forever. Around midnight it was a pale blue sky - still fairly dark. Later it brightened up much more. Morning started earlier too, but can’t say exactly when - I slept every well despite having more sunlight than accustomed to. Now, if it were like July - when the sunset and sunrise times aren’t even listed in some places - I probably would be one of those people who can’t power down. Btw, will you guys be posting videos again?
@JapanLovers3 жыл бұрын
@@getoutntravel6162 Fire and ice hey. I’d love to go there some day. We will return to KZbin but not sure when. Don’t think we will do camera videos anymore though, I’m thinking of us focusing on Japan. It would have to be mini documentaries before the travel sanctions are lifted. I got a few ideas in mind. I’ve been making music that will feature in future videos, it’s been fun.
