Hi Jayden, I just wanted to say that your video is amazing! I hope I can capture drone shots as nice as these. I'm wondering, was the weather very windy when you flew your drone? Can the Mini 3 handle those conditions? I noticed you captured some beautiful shots at the Black Sand Beach-I thought it would be too windy there and was concerned about whether the drone could fly safely. Also, I’m really curious about the locations shown at 01:15, 06:32, 09:12, and 09:24. Could you share where they are? The views are incredible!

Hello! Thank you for the kind words! Here are the locations you requested: 01:15 Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 6:32 Studlagil Canyon 09:12 and 09:24 Fláajökull Glacier The winds in Iceland were actually really strong, but the Mini 3 Pro held up so well that even I was quite surprised. It has a really good in built stabilisation feature and should the winds get too strong, it will warn you and will activate its RTH feature. But this only happened maybe once or twice throughout the entire trip. Just don't fly the drone too close to surfaces if the winds are strong as the drone might get buffeted against the walls and stuff.

@speakerRL i shot in normal colour profile, and I only increased the contrast and saturation for some clips, no colour grading needed!

I think the place in 0:18 is the national park of Þingvellir. 2:49 is the most famous waterfall in Iceland: Skogafoss. 4:27 I think is the Fagradalsfjall mountain/volcano Good luck for your trip, I wan in Iceland in September/October 2022, I'm in love with this country! If u are lucky u can see the northern lights in October :)

Beautiful footage. How did you find flying the drone in the winds? I hear it gets very windy there so I'm a bit worried if I take a drone it wouldn't be able to maintain stability in the winds.

Hi Akshayna, thank you! The DJI Mini 3 Pro is touted for being extremely stable in the wind despite it being only 249g. Iceland can get extremely windy at times, even when I visited in July which has the lowest wind speeds. However, if you have a solid and reliable drone like the Mini 3 Pro you have nothing to worry about. Taking off and landing is a piece of cake, so long as you do it on flat ground. Should you see a high wind speed warning, it probably means your altitude is abit too high and you can just bring your drone abit lower.

@@joeharris1159 When i visited in July the winds were still manageable. However if you plan to visit in the winter you might want to consider getting a heavier drone which can handle flying in and around canyons. However you will have to register your drone if its weight exceeds 249g.

Hi Kinocchio, thank you for the compliment, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Iceland is definitely a great place to bring your drone along, you can even carry it onto the plane in your handcarry. As long as your drone is below 250g, you will not have to apply for a licence. However, most popular tourist attractions like Gullfoss and most nature reserves actually prohibit the use of drones. There will be clear signs to indicate where you cannot fly them. Nevertheless, Iceland is incredibly vast, and you may take the drone up in the air anytime you'd like (perhaps while driving along the countryside or coasts) and chances are the footage you capture will always be stunning. Do also note that there are many birds in Iceland like the arctic tern that can be quite aggressive and territorial if you fly the drone close to their nests. You can see in the video that some of the birds were actually circling the drone. Lastly, should you be flying over a place with many tourists, try to take off and land from a more secluded area perhaps a few hundred metres away, then ascend to about 50 metres, so that will they won't be affected by the buzzing noise. Bottom line is, try not to disturb the wildlife and the other tourists, and you'll be fine! Definitely bring your drone along when you head to Iceland, it will be incredibly worth it. Remember to pack spare batteries as well! Hope you enjoy your trip.
