Most of the people are Icelandic, the sea plays an important role in their culture. I think it's interesting for tourists.

It is June (summer) and the weather is like being in the middle of winter in a Mediterranean country.

Yes you are right. This summer is cold so far in Reykjavik. Shorts may not be useful.
