July was the perfect time to go in my opinion. Crowds were manageable and the weather was mostly good. Ring Road sounds very intimidating but is really super fun if you plan it out well. Check out our Day 3 video. That was my favorite day.

Great post, love the campervan. Could you share the price please? Also, what insurence package did you take? it adds up quite a lot on the original price... I used the same company a few years ago and it was great, and want to repeat the experience with my family this time.

It was 369,775 ISK or $2648.44. That includes pretty much everything that you need including the insurance.
