How brave of you to venture out into such cold wilderness being from the tropics. I’m not from the tropics at all and I’m too scared to want to go out into that frozen land. You seem to know how to take care of yourself very well. I’m surprised that you didn’t have a guide going with you not to show you the way around but to show you how to avoid the dangers of being in such cold weather and how to keep safe and warm.

Haha, indeed, the first time I saw snow years ago, I felt like some magic happened HAHA still, I had a long winter and it was awful 😅. But yeah, I just planned out our itinerary and drove around - it was quite fun and easy. I also did enough research and have now written about the necessary tips. Hope it could help others too :)

@@iAmAileenTV have you mastered the difficult task of driving in the snow yet? its a much different creature of physics to get used to. my pinay wife living with me in canada still has not gotten used to the lack of traction snow introduces into driving. i mastered driving in manila and pampanga all in one day even tho it looked far scarier than driving in any depth of snow. and then it felt like i got the high score on a video game. midtown madness :P but dont worry, little by little she is getting better each day. she is more willing to drive in the snow here than in the traffic back home.

@@tomster7574 It really is hard! I can't say I mastered it, but I have the tires to thank for haha. But yeah, driving in messy Manila is a whole other thing on its own :))) It's madness indeed

@@iAmAileenTV :) if you have more opportunity to practice, how i mastered driving in the snow is, as mentioned, physics and its experiments. i constantly test the traction with my breaks; how hard i can press the pedal before the wheel locks up and slides. lots of little slides stops you much faster than one big slide, and lets you steer more also where sliding doesnt let you steer at all. how fast you can go and how sharp you can steer until you start to slide sideways, then dont go that fast again when turning. as long as the road is flat, whether horizontal, up or down hill, sometimes spinning the hell out of your tires gets you going better than trying to be careful about not spinning them. sometimes. thats when you are already on the road and moving. all the other times you will probably dig a hole and get stuck. ive learned that the hard way many times. tire chains help but only on snow and ice. they break off on hard pavement. cant mix your roads. always carry a shovel. better to park in the middle of the road where you didnt get stuck than try to park off the road where you will get stuck for sure as the snow is always much deeper, and maybe not be able to get back out of. dont always drive on the hard packed snow as its the iciest and most slippery. last, but not least, not at all, one of the most important tips. getting out of a parking spot needs more than a shovel. it needs you to know how to rock your car back and forth to use the hole you are stuck in as a small wheel ramp to get momentum. lots and lots more to list but you dont want me to bore you, do you? :) enjoy

I just came back from Iceland last month. It is so beautiful there! Wish there were more places we could stop the car though since their roads have slopes on the side. Can’t wait to watch the rest of the Iceland vlogs. Currently posting ours up as well on our D&R page lol
