I just went through there. If you have a tight connection, they will delay the plane to give you time to get there.

I'm glad I've found this video. We are flying to Paris next year, and we have a 1 hour layover in Keflavic. I was worried that would not be enough time, since I'm used to customs in the US, (which is a pain), and assumed it would be the same in Iceland. On our return trip, the layover is 55 minutes. I hope that's enough, as well.

Based on our experience, you should not have too many problems. But depending on when you are going, the ETIAS may be in effect. Check out our latest video, kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWXPk6yoad6qeMU for some information. Thanks for watching.

They wouldn’t have the layover be available for such a short time if it was impossible to make it.

How would that possibly be shorter than a direct flight? You have to board another plane and you have to plan in some time in case of delays. Regular layover times are around 2 hours. They say many Americans are bad at math and it's true I guess.

Where we live, direct flights are not available a lot of the time. We have found that when we fly through Iceland, the layovers are very short, around one hour, and the wait time to get through passport control is very minimal.
