We spent our second to the last night in Iceland in Arnarstapi at those super modern angular cabins near the foot of that mountain. And we were looking for Kirkjufell, the mountain. In fact we have a binder made up before our trip with the picture of Kirkjufell on the cover as the final goal of our trip. Drove and drove around the peninsula ....but not far enough. Never found it, but as we drove out of the little town we saw a sign. But too late. Yeah, Iceland is bigger than you can get your head, your senses around. It doesn't matter where you go, what road you take. It's absolutely breathtaking. I'm going back.
