Fuuny how we put so much faith in others to keep us safe and watch over us! I keep seeing this image of a sudden disturbance in the land, a sudden burst of lava and then a loss of video!

Zoom or not, if, unpredictably, a sudden huge burst of lava happens, they will not be able to escape. Ask the people of Pompeii, 79 AD. A pyroclastic flow is almost impossible to get away from. The best defense is to be miles and miles away from the volcano. This eruption is actually from a caldera. Correct? And they are standing in the crater. Right?

Verse 15 "... that we who are ALIVE AND REMAIN until the coming(parousia) of the Lord ...". The "coming of the Lord" that Paul was talking about, however you interpret it, must have taken place during the lifetime of some of those Thessalonians Paul wrote the letter to! One thing is certain about this portion of scripture, it is in the past.

I still wonder why people stand so close 🤔
@Johnboy335453 жыл бұрын
Because they can. No one is standing near the fissures The only place people are close to the lava is after it's flowed some distance away from erupting fissures. Walking is usually faster than the lava at that point. Remember, you don't have to be there but don't be a spoilsport. This is a once in a lifetime event.

How fast it cools from glowing white to just red hot to a black crust on the surface...
@Jester-Riddle3 жыл бұрын
Cooling is the inverse square of the temperature approximately, so initial cooling is very rapid ... However, the rate of temperature decrease slows down as it cools, plus when the surface solidifies it keeps more heat in. Don't walk on what looks like solid lava rock, just in case !!!
@Stadtpark903 жыл бұрын
@@Jester-Riddle I was just fascinated that the color changed sometimes already while the lava / magma was still in the air.
@Jester-Riddle3 жыл бұрын
@@Stadtpark90 That's rapid cooling on the external surface of the mass in the air ... Yes. It's fascinating. This is how ball-bearings used to be made so spherical (maybe still) as molten masses in the air tend towards a sphere, cooling a skin/shell on the outside rapidly when falling ... (ooops. I digress !).

@christianbuczko14813 жыл бұрын
None of these are shield volcanoes, they are 1 fissure which runs 5 miles at least, all vents are lined up on that crack and new vents are opening along that same line.

@@christianbuczko1481 • Thanks for the info. It's hard for us non-volcanologists to articulate a question because different creators and commentors use different terminology. Me, I see a cone, I think volcano.

@@Ryukai-san • Now that makes a lot of sense. When I see a cone, I think "volcano" because I didn't know there was a better description.
@Ryukai-san3 жыл бұрын
@@yvonnetomenga5726 That's because it is a volcano, but the type of object that the lava is coming out of is called a splatter cone. Think of it in how we name animals, All Birds are Birds, but different types of birds have different type names i.e. Raptors, Corvids, Crown etc. Which then all have different individual types, i.e. crows, eagles, ducks etc... Volcanoes are essentially the same, all Volcanoes are volcanoes, but different types have different type names i.e. Cinder cones (current Iceland type), shield, composite etc :). And different types can produce different 'eruptions' i.e. Splatter, flood, Plinian etc

Sometimes, I think it's pissed off, and trying to piss on the ones' that caused it to be cursed in the first place, mankind, lol. Just joking. Actually, it's one of the ways it is prevented from being destroyed. Kind of a fix, or, recycling process. When sin entered into the Earth, cut off from it's creator, everything began to die. God had to slow things down so it last till He's ready to create a new one, amen. Praise God!!! His plan is in effect. Grace, and peace, to you, and your loved ones.
