I used to get blazing drunk and rock out to these guys live! Arguably the best band of the 90's.

This is a special bunch of people...besides the fantastic music they continue to make. The most recent record is akin to the Mission of Burma story...like a time lapse, would have followed 9 Songs if it was released a year later. This is a super cool story. I've met greg and jack separately...need to stop by Goner Records and drop some fanboy stuff on eric some day. Greg did a solo set the early afternoon at my (rip) record shoppe [sic] the day after a blazing Reigning Sound set, accepted no offers of money or any records he wanted. I'll never forget him smiling and chatting it up with my MOM! through the crowd. Miss ya mom. If I get Greg's permission, it features the best version of Find Me Now anywhere, much more intense than the great Live at Goner lp. But buy live at Goner because you neeeeeds it. Goner is, and has been, one of the key rock and roll labels of the last 20-30 years. To this day.

2:20 Mary Lou from ..Play 9 Songs with Mr. Quintron 4:53 Feel All Right from Play 9 Songs 11:15 Ride That Train from Play 9 Songs 14:32 If Mother Knew from Play 9 Songs dont know the one Jack sings. these are early versions of songs from Play 9 Songs with Mr. Quintron that would come out the next year. these are neat because its the live 3 piece with no organ like on the record. It’s a Greg record and heavily influenced by southern gospel music with only a little of the balls out punk energy of the first two records BUT its a great record none the less. Mr. Quintron’s playing is amazing as well! check out Live The Life and Final Stretch from it, they are all time Oblivians greats.

This is the way to experience The Oblivions, or any great rock and roll band worth their salt: up close and personal; when you can smell the liquor on their breath and feel their sweat hit you in the face. Where the rubber hits the road, jack...
