Humans often tend to think of the present moment as something to get by without giving it so much of a thought, always waiting for that "perfect moment" when we'll be finally happy and enjoy it only to end up waiting for another prefect moment, and ultimately getting stuck in the ratcrace of constantly chasing after something that simply doesn't exist.

Your video reached me just when I needed it. I was experiencing frustration and burnout with my work - only minor, nothing serious - and watching your video gave me renewed energy and appreciation for this moment. I especially took note of your warning at 1:30 of avoiding the strong tendency that we often have of "sleepwalking through life". Since every moment is unique, and *never* to be repeated, it makes sense to give every moment our full attention and to appreciate it. And even if the moment is hard or painful, we can still learn from it, and use it to guide us in the future. This is very helpful. Dank U, Einzelganger, from Australia.

I totally agree with this! So many moments slip by when we’re lost in our heads. I’ve caught myself worrying about work while walking through a beautiful park, only to realize I missed the whole thing. It's like my mind was on autopilot. I once joined the Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x, and it reminded me how humor often thrives in being present-whether in a casual chat or a lighthearted moment. Remember, every interaction can be a chance to connect and find joy in the present. It’s about embracing the now!

A man traveling across a field encountered a tiger. He fled, the tiger after him. Coming to a precipice, he caught hold of the root of a wild vine and swung himself down over the edge. The tiger sniffed at him from above. Trembling, the man looked down to where, far below, another tiger was waiting to eat him. Only the vine sustained him. Two mice, one white and one black, little by little started to gnaw away at the vine. The man saw a luscious strawberry near him. Grasping the vine with one hand, he plucked the strawberry with the other. How sweet it tasted! 🍓🍓🍓

I needed to hear this so much at exactly this moment in time. Things haven't been going the way I need them to go, and I often find myself wanting to get out of this state as soon as possible. But in this chase for something different (or what I imagine to be better) I often overlook the positives of what I have now. :( it's hard to be in the present when the present isn't what you want.

We all need to be wearing the ring with the inscription 'this to shall pass". I tell myself that often and recently conveyed that to a friend gloating about his side winning the election. His reply was " ye of little faith " so I don't think he got it. How difficult it is to simply pay attention to one's breath during the day.
