I went hiking in the Sierras this summer with my aunt and uncle, and I listened to WIndswept Adan every night before bed to help calm my mind and get to sleep. One night we were up quite high camped at the edge of this crystal clear mountain lake, and it had been raining a good portion of the afternoon and evening. We were cold wet and tired. Had dinner and went to bed early. I can clearly see the small rain droplets hitting and falling down the covers of my tent in the dusk light, and even though I was terribly sore and quite damp I've never felt a safety and comfort like that in my life. The next day I went swimming in the lake and the cold water soothed my aching muscles. I dove in from atop a boulder with my eyes closed and imagined I was swimming like the girl on the cover. I'm so grateful to have those beautiful experiences with that album and I hope I never forget that. Thank you Ichiko Aoba, if you are reading this somehow.

I’ve been studying my ass off for the past few days due to my exams. Tmrw is my last exam and I can’t focus at all due to the excitement of it ending soon. It’s 10 pm and I can’t study any longer so here I am chilling to the playlist. I wonder why I never knew abt Ichiko’s music before but this is helping my so much rn. I’m not worried abt studies anymore. This playlist remains me of going bicycling while the hot summer sun falls on your back and the hot breeze lifts your hair. I can’t fully explain how I feel when listening to her but the best way is that I feel like how I felt in 2020, the middle of lockdown when I first started doing things that I enjoyed and when I really started being myself.
