A nice subtle little detail about it: Kara knows how much Ichi hates him. Ichi is rarely, if ever, nice to him. He could, for all intents and purposes, have made Ichi look as awful as humanly possible while pretending to be him, it would have been his perfect opportunity for revenge. He could have focused exclusively on that and made it seem like Ichi is a horrible person who hates him for no reason and what not...and instead the only thing he characterizes Ichi on is his love for cats.
