I only wish Mom was still alive to see this. She Loved watch'g Ichiro & made me a huge fan. I took her to a Mariners game before she died in 2006 Seeing him at the plate pull'g that shirt sleeve up before ea hit & jet off to steal'g more bases than anyone in person, made her the happiest I'd seen her. Thank you Ichiro for that.

Ichiro was my hero as a kid. He was part of the reason I fell in love with Baseball in the first place. I'd listen to the radio for damn near every game because he was there. 10 year old me was heartbroken when he went to the Yankees. I stayed a fan of both Seattle and Ichiro, being sad that my favorite player would never be on my favorite team again. And then he came back in 2018. I cried very happy tears when that happened. I cried significantly more happy tears when he walked off the field for the last time in that Tokyo series. There could never have been a more poetic ending to his career as a player than that, and I thought "yeah, that's a great ending point." And then my Dad bought the family tickets to this game. I got to see my hero inducted into the Mariners Hall of Fame live and in person, and I don't know if I've ever cried harder. I think the only thing left that could complete my life would be to meet the man. Maybe one day. 💙51 Forever💚
Ichiro brought me back to the game. He is my son's hero .my son's 1st MLB game Ichiro tossed my son a ball⚾..He brought the game back to our lives .I will FOR EVER owe him!!! This made a grown man tear up

Ichiro is my fav player of all time, and I was 13 when he came into the league on '01 (born in '88). I'm a New Yorker, so I was a big Yankee fan, especially since their dynasty years '98-'00 but Ichiro was my favorite, so I would watch the Mariner games online via livestream. When they played the Yankees, I would hope the Yankees would win but that Ichiro would go 5 for 5 haha. I was so glad when he came to the Yankees later in his career! I also played in little leagues, and at local parks with friends, etc., so I would hit leadoff bc of my speed, and even though I was righty I learned to hit lefty and would do Ichiro's batting stance, and hit the ball on the ground and run! I played shortstop and outfield mostly on defense. I also played with both Yankees and Mariners in the baseball video games haha! The early 2000s were such a fun time, and Ichiro will forever live in my memories. I'm so glad I got to witness greatness in person!
My grandma got to see this hall of fame ceremony while having stage 3 pancreatic cancer. She passed about two weeks after. Idk baseball but Ichiro Ik was a stud who would have broke all the records if he didn’t have to play in Japan for so long. Thank you ichiro and grandma, she gave me ur hall of fame bobble head so when I see it I think of her!
I feel incredibly blessed to be able to be there and cheer on a childhood hero into the Mariners Hall of Fame, Cooperstown is next Ichiro. You are a legend and we love and respect you so much!!!

I followed Ichiro’s entire MLB career, rooting every year for him to collect his 200 hits, his All-Star nod, and his Gold Glove. I only wished he had also won a World Series. What a remarkable player and a human being!

I'm getting teary eyed/crying while watching this. I grew up watching Ichiro. To me he's a hero and he's just such a sweetheart, he's so humble, I love him as a player and as a human being. I used to play baseball in the park with my dad and he would tell me to do Ichiro's move just for fun cuz my dad and I loved Ichiro. I'll never forget that. Thank you Ichiro for everything!! 💙💙💙💙

@@bryant475 I'm from a small town in WA state but I grew up close to Seattle. I've gone to several games and I got to see Ichiro play. It was awesome.
Tears of nostalgia watching this. I remember first moving to Seattle when I was 5 from Arkansas. The Mariners was the first sports team I fell in love with. A few years later, I’m playing right field and copying his batting routine. Loved the way he played with finesse and grace.
There's a reason why Ichiro is universally loved. Man just played the game with the utmost respect and charisma while being one of the best pure players to ever play the game. Incredibly happy for him
ichiro. An absolute anomaly of strength, speed, and respect. Love the English speech and the personal humor. It must take great courage to do so. 51 forever!

The man that I've dedicated almost a decade and half of my life to!! It was truly amazing to watch his career through all these years. There's no one in the history of baseball that was more selfless and cared more about the game than all of his accomplishments. If anyone wants to find a person or player that represents honor, sportsmanship, humility, and dedication Ichiro should be the first person that comes to mind. You have been an inspiration to say the least and your passion for the game is immeasurable. Thank you for everything that you wouldn't take credit for because that's not who you are. Besides watching you play some of my best memories are reading your book "Ichiro on Ichiro" to my son during bedtime. He chose your number for his All-Star jersey this year and he's 10. You have made a major impact on and off the field to people of all ages. Thank you Ichi!!!

As a Jays fan I am not ashamed to say that I was a huge Ichiro fan. Probably the most complete player I've ever seen play and he proves that hard work is just as important as talent and he played ball with style, not swagger. Congrats Ichiro, they'd better have a nice spot ready for you at Cooperstown.
Thank you people of the United States. Thank you to all the Mariners fans. I think I had a very pleasant dream. Ichiro's success was like a dream for us Japanese. With love from Japan

Man, this had my eyes a little wet. Must be the allergies. 🤣🥲 lol. I absolutely LOVE ICHIRO!!! What a blessing to grow up watching him and such an honor that it was for the Seattle Mariners teamand fans. You are loved world wide Ichiro. But you are a Mariner and therefore I feel a special kinship with you. Thank you for the years full of amazing memories you gave us in Seattle. I'm so happy that you are still with the team and helping the next generation of Mariners. When Julio brought Ichiro the bouquet of flowers I felt a strong pride for this organization honoring one of the 2 greatest Mariner players of all time. That's amazing to honor him in the custom of Japan. And yeah my eyes filled up a little there. What a beautiful induction into the Mariners Hall Of Fame.

One of the best to ever do it. Played with class and discipline rarely seen today in team sports. Never involved in any scandal or controversy on and off the field. Most importantly played the game how it should be played, with respect. Will never see another like him. I'm just glad I was able to see him play in my lifetime.
