Where was the nightmare all-in-all she came out very nice. How did you set the struts at the correct angle as this is always the problem with bi-planes. I particularly commend you airbrushing the camouflage, these types of camouflage I usually end up brush painting. I have a Breguet 693 by Smer / Heller in the stash that keeps calling to me so maybe i'll bite the bullet and try airbrushing the camouflage. Thanks again for showing a long forgotten aircraft that hasn't received much love from kit manufactures. If you really look at aircraft development there was a lot of very decent and interesting aircraft built by all countries that mainly seem to have been forgotten, The he-51 being one of them. About the only manufacture to do quite a few 1930's aircraft is Heller and they've included several early German types like the Heinkel's and Arado's and Focker-Wulf's trainers and fighters.

Although you received the unthinking hymns of praise for your model by other viewers, I am not so convinced. First I don't like to work with a spraygun (although I have two of them), it's time consuming and intricate to prepare the tool and clean it afterwards. So it's kind of amusing to me, that some modelers use their spraygun where it is not necessary, for instance painting the interior. I did not know, that the Heinkels had the cockpit painted "interior green", but you live and learn. The He 51s of the Legion Condor were of the C-variant, that means they were fitted with a rack for five bombs (each 10 kilogramms) below the pilot's seat. Such aircraft had an open slot on the underside of the fuselage, across the width of the fuselage and approx. at the trailing edge of the lower wing. The landing gear fairing is too long, so it appears too stalky. Why don't you use modeling clay to form the transition between the upper surface colors? It would have been much easier. The dark brown 61 is in my opinion too blackish, in fact it is identical to RAL 8019 Graubraun, which still exists today. RLM 63 Grau is however too light, in all b/w-photos it appears darker than RLM 65 Hellblau. In general this kit is not better than the old Hasegawa kit I built many years before.

Hello again! I am, after what seems like years, coming to the final stages of assembly on this kit and I’ve discovered that the two Z-shaped top wing support beams, that are mounted just forward of the cockpit, seem to have not been molded properly, to the extent where the glue points don’t match up to their intended holes without some severe bending of plastic. I’m curious if you had a similar issue and, if so, how you dealt with it? I’m already freaking out at the prospect of getting ALL of the support struts to glue in properly and this just added even more drama😂.

Thanks! Before the decal I apply a bit of vallejo decal fix. Once the decal is in place and dry, I brush with vallejo decal softener to dissolve the transparent film 🙂

Excelente modelo, imagino se o kit fosse de qualidade. Nunca fiz um biplano ou Tri devido aos cabos de aço, mas adoro esses aviões. O que usou para os cabos? Fez parecer tão fácil no vídeo, muito bom. Espero o próximo vídeo. 👍👏👏👏👏👏

Obrigada! Para os cabos de "aço" usei a linha de rigging da Uschi e supercola para colar. É preciso alguma pratica (e paciência) pois nem sempre colam à primeira. Serviu de teste para umas novidades futuras aqui no canal :)

Wow, just Wow,is all I can say! I'm currently working on this kit but it's my very first foray into camo painting and I'm having to do it all with rattle cans. It's coming out very well but it won't be the masterpiece yours is. What I have to ask is what did you use for the wires between wings and how did you attach them? it's not real clear in the video. Awesome,INSPIRATIONAL work!

@@ModestModeler Thx for the tip! I just watched the second half,where you made the base. Again awesome! I remember another thing I was curious how you handled...Where the wheel housings attach to the "struts" it shows instructions to cut the small tab at the end of the strut off and it shows a 2mm gap,but I'm confused. Do I retain and use those cut off tabs on the inside of the wheel housings or do I toss them? The instructions COULD be a bit clearer as to the exact process. Yours is the only vid I've seen on the build of this particular kit, so I'm sorry for all the questions.

I think the dilution was the problem, it was probably not diluted enough so it's really thick and it does this not smooth splattery effect. This is just my experience though

Probably is the base of the paint (polyuretane). I tried several dilutions and air presures. It was constantly clogging the airbrush

@@ModestModeler after trying to build Dewoitine D.510 (KOVOZAVODY PROSTEJOV) I call old ICMs "relatively good" :) Also I have a question, do you recall having any troubles with attaching upper wing? (based on my experience with their i-15bis I don't expect it to be easy)

Yeap the wing studs dont line up correctly. If I ever have to make this kit again, I will attach both wings before painting. I think you will have less trouble painting them already assembled
