Strange Fumito Ueda never visited any castles. Kenji Eno went to Europe & visited several castles to get ideas for his game "D". It's rarely ever mentioned, but Fumito Ueda actually did a few bits of animation for the director's cut of the game before working on "Enemy Zero". I remember playing the last save file of "ICO" over & over just to hear Steven Geraghty sing "You Were There". Of course this was before I owned the soundtrack & before the song was uploaded to the internet. "ICO" seriously needs a from-the-ground-up remake.
