I plan to do the same plan in my 97 ranger. How did you mount the face plate in there for it not to move?

I used an L bracket and mount the face plate to it.

thanks for this video, Ive been contemplating putting this radio in my 5th gen 4runner but Im still stumped about what antenna to go with due to the roof rack possibly causing issues ...have you experienced any electrical/engine noise and grounding issues? I really dont want to drill a hole in my roof and would rather get a mag mount or attach the antenna to the rack itself

I have a prinsu rack and mounted my antenna on it. I've updated the description to include all of the parts I used. Hope that will help. I have no engine noise and no grounding issues.

I have this radio - great radio. When I had it in my Ram 1500 I used a 1/4 mag mount on the roof of the truck. Never had an issue with engine/electrical noise and it performed great in my hilly area.

@@reidlanham2011 Thanks for the reply, Reid. I did run into something odd... Never realized it until I drove at night. But when I have my headlights on, I see some interference but it doesn't affect my communication. I'll do a quick video of what I am trying to explain.

How did you run the coax down the A pillar? Did you tuck it under the windshield gasket? Thanks.

There is a channel on the side big enough for the coax cable to fit.

How does the screen look from the drivers seat? Any viewing issues? That’s the only spot I’d want to install a radio in my 4Runner.

It’s the jeep unique mount for the icom and a Boafeng handheld.
