New capacitors on the VFO board of an Icom R-71A, and damage caused by UPS, send this radio across the country no less than 4 times. Finally, back home!

If you are talking the R-2000, or the R-71A, they are two entirely different classes of radios. It makes no sense to compare them.

Hi thinking of buying the ic 71e , i don’t know. If the ic 71a or the ic 71e have the same problems with the capacitors , do you know when the capacitors where changed. Thank you. Dave

David H Harbourne I had mine changed a few months ago- I’ve been the sole owner of this set. But I’d advise, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. People go a little mad with recapping radios.
