I think fifa overall rating count depending on your position, for example Messis avg rating isnt 91, but since hes a winger in game it doesnt make sense to rate him based on his defending, so that 91 comes mostly from pace, dribbling passing and lil bit of shooting since those are the most important stats for a winger

I was dying inside when I packed him in the Icon pack... But because I didn't have any left footed winger on my team anyway, so i gave him a try and tbh, it was a sick card couple of months ago, the fact that there are not that many left footed card makes him kinda usable... Sad thing is that they make Icon who suppose to be one of the best card in the game, because they are legend in their era, made them looks bad in game and kids will think that oh theyre not good in the video game means that probably Antony is better Seedorf and Gerrard...

If I’m not mistaken, rating is calculated by adding all the stats and if it’s an attacker or midfielder, you divide by 5, but if it’s a defender then it’s by 6, if that’s the case, 483(all 6 stats added together) divide 5 is 96, I think the main reason barnes and many other icons don’t have as high rating as their stats may show is that fifa would be too chaotic with all of these overpowered players

The dividing by 5 or 6 is definitely not how they do it😂. It is probably a weighted average based on position, so a winger would have a very low weight for defending and very high weight on passing and dribbling. That’s my guess but knowing EA they could even just give an overall rating they feel like regardless of stats.

This is why you get strikers who have good shooting and dribbling that have low ratings, because certain stats are calculated better. A striker with low strength won’t be given a high rating even if he has 85 shooting because it thinks strikers need to be physical to be good.

Loads of silvers who are 74 rated thereabouts have good stats for their rating but aren’t higher because there will be certain stuff that’s low. You’ll get some of them with like 87 pace 74 shooting that should be almost 80 rated
