Mainly because of the wire lacing setup, I've wanted to get a pair of these but I find the sole is too smooth (not enough bulky tread). Past boots with this smooth sole proved to be a nightmare when you put your foot down on scattered stones on the pavement (as in most paved parking lots). The stones just roll right under the boot and your foot slips out. I find the boots with the much more aggressive sole, bite much better and is why I continue to avoid these boots.

Great video/review! I specifically remember when you did the review on the older version… because I was in the market for some new riding boots. I quickly bought the Icons, from your site. I absolutely love the boa lace up system. Quick and easy off and on. I live in Utah and ride in various weather conditions. I have never complained about hot or cold feet. Yes, I have risen in a complete downpour and didn’t have wet feet either. I wear good wicking socks and the boots never seem swampy in the summer months. I love the light weight feeling of the boot too. Walking around is never an issue. I was at Sturgis with some friends, we walked up to the Deadwood Cemetery from Outlaw Square, (yes, I know there is a parking lot up at the top of the hill, but it was full). My friends complain to this day about walking in their riding boots up that hill. I love my Icons!!

I just watched you video on the Icon Patrol 3. I immediately got on Revzilla and ordered a pair. I followed your advice and bought the Patrol 2 when you reviewed that one and it has been the best, most comfortable motorcycle boot I have ever owned. My 2’s are a little beat up now but far from retirement. I’m sure there will be occasions when I need a beat up boot instead of a newer boot. I ordered the 3’s right away because, even though I’m between bikes and shopping, I had a very hard time finding the 2’s in my size back in the day. Thanks for the review.

I have the new ICP3 and so far I like them, however wish they had a loop on the back to grab when pushing your heel into the shoe.

I’m a 9.5 but these shoes seem super snug. Do they loosen up over time or is sizing up a better option? I do agree that they should have left the tab to assist on putting the shoes on. They are very difficult to get on without it IMO.

You can replace BOA straps, they're a little annoying though. I'm also a cyclist (a motor, harley rider, and cyclist LOL) and I broke a BOA strap on my cycling shoes, and I was able to replace them. But it is kinda annoying and definitely not as simple as just replacing a lace...
