It’s nice but in a tight tool bag the fatter grips just take to much real estate. So normally I keep everything to the standard grips. Unless it just don’t come in that grip. Or if it needs to be for some reason. Certain insulated tools. But in a box/drawer or wall. The thicker handled tools are definitely nice. Just eats bag space quickly

Not entirely sure but believe I heard lots of Icon’s tools are coming out of the same manufacturing plants as snap on and such. Just different name stamped on it. Kinda like carrier and Bryant sort of thing.

No way the rubber on the icon lasts as long as the knipex. The rubber on my original pair bought in 2007 is still good. I have bent 3/16 plate with them and they still function good as new. My newer ones open up wider but are not as strong.

Hell I’m sure it doesn’t at all I’ve had this pair since 2015 and the icon isn’t as much of a dipped type grip it’s a thicker cushion style. That’s my only displeasure with them but they function well! I’ll stick with knipex all day for sure

@@prestigemechanical3600 the press jaws pay for themselves simply for the fact you no longer need oxygen and acetylene and man hours saved,but buying a cloned copy of an outdated version of a tool at damn near the same price just seems foolish.
