Its American Television, while it might not be scripted it is entirely directed and the more the owners ham it up, the more they make off the show. There is a big reason why 1 of 2 things happen, the owners have some massive turnaround and get a bunch of publicity, or they dont but the restaurant gets a big makeover before they shut down and sell off the building to profit or break even on their failing business.

@animegopher9 ай бұрын
The idea of firing customers makes sense, but its normally called "barring" or "banning." And it's normally used for people that try to get free meals consistently, not people that don't like your food. For instance, I used to work at a restaurant, as a server/manager, and I would have to bar people, granted not very often, for trying to get free meals or for being disorderly. Drunks that would come in already hammered, asking to be served drinks, and when they get told no, they immediately start to argue and yell. I've also had people lie about meals to ask if they could get a new meal... After they already ate their ENTIRE first meal... And they would normally ask for a box and get two meals for one (or for free depending on whether or not the owner was there). A couple times of them doing that led us to not allow them to be served in our restaurant.

You know in the UK, Indians came over here in mass starting in the 60s, now their food is hugely popular here with many takeaways and places to eat. Here's the catch though, alot of their food has been modified and changed to suit the British pallets, you won't find most of the curries in India like you would in here. Point being it's completely ok to think people won't like food or spices from a different nation, it doesn't have any racial prejudice in cases like this.

22:53 I think this is a lesson a lot of places could use. I just came back from a trip to Japan and was blown away both at the high quality of the food, speed of service but also how small the menus were. And I certainly wasn't eating at fancy Michelin star restaurants but just "average" places on the street or train stations. I feel like G was a little hard on Keone. The only reason he argues is because he sees what is being done wrong and if they would have done things his way more from the start they may not be in this mess financially. He advocated for better food and she micromanaged about insignificant things like a table cloth being an inch off. He saw what was wrong and she would not listen. Now G is saying the same things. He lost his passion because he was not given a voice.

@@RandomGuyCDN She was likely well aware of his situation. She doesn't didn't believe it was as bad as he did. 30 years of experience in the industry probably made her stubborn to think she was doing anything wrong. It doesn't help that maybe she was negative at the start or it went downhill and set her into negativity, but the real sad part (about her) is that as things got worse, her mood got worse. 30 years just shat out the drain. I'm not defending her by any means, she's crazy in the episode.

@@ericrivera8410 There's nuance to it. There's good pride and bad pride. Taking pride in your work when you know you've given it your best is good, especially if you use that "high" to fuel further progress in your development. Pride is bad when you become obstinate in the face of failure and are too egotistical to admit wrongdoing. Pride becomes a liability when you ride off your laurels and lose humility. Humility tempers pride and is a necessary part of good pride. "Pride comes before a fall" if you believe you're untouchable and have nothing to improve. Never stop learning and improving. Have the humility to be a student of life.

Yep me too but with laughter. She is a master manipulator. Happy to throw her own kids under the bus. Gordon’s mum is miles apart from this ‘mother’ just listen to her talk to her eldest, ‘be quiet, I’m talking now, just shut up & do what I say. Sorry the woman is a control freak, I remember a matron in the 60’s who would make you re-make patients beds if the top sheet was half an inch out there had to be 12 inches of white sheet showing with the seam flat! & if one bed was out, every bed had to be done again. This woman is exactly the same.
