Mr. Baldassare - This is off topic, but your knowledge and videos have always been fantastic, one of my favorite KZbin channels…. Would you ever consider doing a video regarding how to negotiate (with proper etiquette) a watch purchase at an AD? Do AD’s negotiate watch prices? Is it appropriate, and if so how to go about it? Thank you.

Would be cool for sure

My philosophy is that it never hurts to ask. I was able to snag an extra alligator strap for my Longines at their store in NYC. When you do negotiate though, be prepared to buy.

The things I love most about your channel, is that in these videos you already state in the tile how many brands it is. Plus in f.e. the moon phase watches video and other videos similar you state the rules for how and why you chose watches right at the beginning. That's so helpful for viewing and understanding

I love my Max Bill, which the first watch over $1,000 that I purchased. I don't know if it qualifies as "iconic," but the Tudor 1926 is a watch at the top of this range that is tremendous value for money. You've discussed it many times on your channel. For the price, it's very hard to beat in terms of its aesthetics, brand connection, or mechanics.

Very nice put together , just one observation - the Nomos Tangente (that everybody praise for it's design) it's basically a clone of a "Stowa Antea Kleine secunde" or other german watches (like Lange) that used the dials from the supplier "Weber&Baral" in the 1930's (inspired by the Bauhaus school). Soo - I don't know how "Iconic" a 1990's Bauhaus "hommage" watch can be... On the other hand - the Max Bill is spot on !

👏🏾 Thanks so much for the history lesson (I love it)! I was drawn to the Diastar (and other Rado models) back in the 90s. I was fascinated with their highly scratch resistant hardened steel technique, which has led me to own tungsten and ceramic watches today. I'm also a fan of Nomos (classic simplicity) and Zodiac (aviation inspired Dragon Wing chrono).

The Nomos Tangente is an iconic watch for sure. I have owned one, but never could I get used to its strange angulated lugs. The same "lug problem" I have with the Orion: the lugs are bizarrely elongated and sort of triangulanting which spoils the otherwise beautiful watch for me.

I've been looking into this watch the last few weeks, and I'm sooo torn about it. On one hand, it is super pretty in its simple, no-nonsense design, and said to be very durable by almost every reviewer, but on the other hand every comment section of videos about Sinn 556 is peppered with comments from people who had some unacceptable QC issues and had to send their watches straight to Sinn. It's a tough call.

I have a black Rado Diastar r5.5 square chronograph blue dial with ceramic case and titanium bracelet. It is an awesome watch. However, that model of Diastar is a little above this videos budget. I got it for 50 percent off at a jeweler in New Orleans that was no longer going to be an AD for Rado. The deal was too good to pass up and I got it for $1600! That price puts it in this category but I'm sure this video is based on MSRP.
