It is not the same thing. Otherwise you would not say that we are all 'othuroye' because that is what Assyrians are and Suryoye are 'Oromoye.' The Greek named the Suryoye Syriacs because of the history, the Aramaic language and the Syriac Orthodox Church . The Aramaic language is NOT the Assyrian language. You cannot change history.

Nah not really syriacs r a tribe of people where one a long time ago what only makes them the same as Assyrians is that they speak Aramaic but they r not Assyrians the syriacs we’re located somewhere in the Middle East forgot where tho they entered Assyria and mixed themselves with Assyrians they became us but they aren’t us never were that’s why there flag is different with colour and design like there is no blue just yellow and red and Chaldean is Assyrian but there flag design is different Chaldean flag uses Assyrian colours they don’t say they r Assyrian cuz they r catholic no difference to Christian Assyrian like u believe in Jesus same with orthodox c

@@ritaa1359 Syriac is a language that Assyrian people speak. These Syriac churches in Europe are the main reason why they tried to separate themselves from Assyrians when we are in fact related genetically. The Assyrian flag was originally pink, it had 3 stars that represented the 3 church denominations. It wasn’t until the 70s it was proposed to change the flag. The Syriac flag is an Assyrian symbol btw. Our nation was strong before the 70s. Now we are dying and will be no more. Eventually.
