Man, I love this game. The team behind this and the Ninja Warriors remake need to be in charge of every 16-bit remake ever. I can *finish* the game on Normal, but no deaths on Hard? Let alone keeping your multiplier up and stalling out bosses for extra score at the same time... Good work!

That’s impressive in of itself! I still struggle to get a clear on normal. My pride won’t allow me to go down to easy though so I’ve kind of just been coming back to the game every now and then to play a few credits and see if I have any break throughs. I do run Annie for sure though.

I love watching your videos because they give me insight on how to get better and what strategies to go for. You're approaching levels in a much more efficient manner than I do, which for me is just trying to shoot everything on the screen. I love how you prioritize targets and find good positioning. Your videos are really helpful for me in getting better at games.

Damn this game was my childhood I remember perfectly when I got this game for the SNES, me and my best friend played this every single day after school along with Ghoul Patrol, man time flies by so fast can't believe I'm 32 already and with a kid almost the same age I was when playing this, thanks for uploading, it brought back memories I forgot I had.

Enemies actually have less HP in the lower two difficulties. The scoring is what becomes tricky and is where the actual difficulty lies because you have to prioritize 5 zako enemies to use the 5x multiplier. When you don’t do this, survival isn’t bad at all, but when you do, you’re forced to hold a position and try to defend yourself while being stationary. This is what makes Doris the strongest scoring character. Her multiplier isn’t dictated by chaining, she has direct control based on her level of charge, up to 7x which no other character can do. As you get to some of the levels with Annie and Clint, things get incredibly silly, the final boss in underground can actually be chained but you have to stand and shoot the incoming power up drones. Same with the first screen on the final stage, issue being that the latter example has enemies that can pierce your defense when using your shot to intercept bullets. Overall, it’s a very deceptive game and I’ve done a ton of high score runs.

I really wish your Vulcan gun didn’t screw you out of multiplier. But guess who’s Vulcan doesn’t do that? Lol
@iconoclast5754 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I watched some of your videos to see how the game plays. There are a few things about the scoring that I don't like, but it definitely makes the game more fun if you pay attention to it and try to keep your chain. Doris seems like she'll be the most interesting character to play (I haven't tried the dog yet).
@ArctheLadder4 жыл бұрын
@@iconoclast575 Doris is dope... the dog makes me hate myself! Little aside, I was going through the Switch trying to put up some top scores and then the Natsume Atari score server had some kind of breakdown so when the back up was put back up, I lost all the Normal Mode rankings lol. And a bit of motivation. Your video motivated me to finish what I started. Breaking 5 million with Doris without it getting wiped on PS4 was a relief.

@lecapitaineisonyoutoob4 ай бұрын
I wish there were more protags like Annie. Usually, when an action heroine is said to be "feminine," it literally just means "fuckable." Not here - Annie is a badass gunslinger who's ALSO a prim and proper 19th-century lady. That's something I find cool as hell. Not only that, it plays nicely on the famous saying that "God created men and Colt made them equal" - since physical strength is much less of a concern with guns, a "proper lady" can use them just as well as a more physically imposing character.

Well, I have a new high score. There's definitely mistakes in there, but some new strategies. I intentionally didn't do certain multipliers and I kind of regret losing patience since I was so far in. Either way, I think it shows some of the more aggressive or bold scoring stuff. But there's a ton of RNG involved, like holding a position and hoping enemies don't shoot at you multiple times in a row, because recovery or safety means giving up a ton of points. But wanted to show my appreciation for you giving this game a shot.
@iconoclast5754 жыл бұрын
Congrats! Yeah the amount of randomness is offputting, not just with the enemies but with the gun pickups too (the P-shooter shouldn't even exist). Still, it's a fun system to play with despite some of the flaws.
