I badly want Iconoclasts to return to a GDQ event. I know it probably won't though, which is a shame. One of my favorite games ever. The art/design/character models/animation are breathtaking, some of the best in all of gaming. It actually has my favorite bosses in any game ever and the writing is FANTASTIC. I really wish it had blown up and become massively popular because my god is it an incredible game. I'd absolutely kill for a sequel.

I really love Iconoclasts. It’s a bit unfortunate that GDQ did an Any% run because it skips so much of a great game! Not the runner’s fault - this was a great run.

Finally got around to watching this, wanted to get the game and enjoy it casually first. Awesome run, it would be ridiculous how broken this game was if that apparently weren't an unofficial requirement for all metroidvania games. Excellent work on the commentary too, nice balance between loads of information and casual banter.

mean, the enemy kill double jump and the air swim are very much not-intended, and the Charge shot Run speed boost is either an exploit or a bug...

LivingEidolon Play it! I just happened to beat it today, and it has an amazing story (though it's a bit tough to keep up with) with tight controls. Definitely worth it.

Solution: Go beat the game and then watch the run later. I just finished it tonight, so this was a nice post-game "reward" to look forward to. Did not disappoint, if anything knowing exactly how badly this was broken just made it so much better.

12 hours is not a long game. The game itself is mechanically easy when playing casually, but the story is deep and heart-wrenching.

@Vazazell They either telegraph attacks or just attack in cycles. I found the difficulty to be normal. Maybe slightly easy but not too much. And yeah, it's quite heavy, I didn't expect that from colorful platformer with stun gun instead if real gun and whacky initial premise.

All the plants are weird square plants made of ivory that don't have real seeds. But pirate girl has some real seeds, and ivory makes real seeds grow super big super fast. So if you stick a bunch of seeds into a guy with ivory blood, he turns into a tree.

To be fair this wasn't really a lore exhibition, the game is like 75% narrative so it was nice how much they actually were able to explain in between all the glitches and skips. Some details were always going to be omitted.
