Thank you Paul. That was awesome!. I love market structure but breaker blocks is new to me and makes perfect sense. What I like is that the BB provides a strong signal for trade entry, of course using market structure and other confluences (MACD, Squeeze, Andean Oscillator, 9EMA and Volume). One of my favorite strategies is the Break & Retest. The BB shows a great trade entry zone, based on changing market structure. Yes!

Paul thank you so much for helping me learn ICT. I have done my part as per gentlemen agreement. I was wondering if I could ask you few questions. 1. You mention in your videos higher time frame of interest (HTFI). Can you please tell me what is HTFI do you use? The reason I asked if it is 1H TF or higher, it will take longer for setup to be formed and ICT teaches to take entries at Lower TFs. 2. In your video above what Time Frame (TF) did you use to markup charts on S&P500? 3. Even though it was Breaker Block (BB) training videos, I noticed there were FVG setup as well, but market didn't trade into the FVG. So how do you determine if you should take entry at the BB and not in the FVG? I mean if I am to wait for FVG I would have missed those trades you showed above. 4. So how do you know when to use BB setup and not FVG setup for entries?
@pauljleroy Жыл бұрын
Sure! #1 I like to use the H4 and H1. #2 From memory it was the H1. #3 When you get a BB + FVG this is called the unicorn and ICT says it is higher probability. Otherwise use which ever one you prefer. The only way to know is to do 100's of days of back testing. #4 Same as #3. The only way to know and learn is to see it 100s of times in replay and forward testing. Hope this helps!

Paul, it seems to me that the breaker block on a bearish move is the last bear candle because that is where the bear orders are still sitting. You have it as the last bullish candle. That runs inconsistent with most other interpretations.

Paul, thanx for all of your great work. After 18 months or so what do you think is the best approach for an ICT strategy. Coming off a trading desk I struggle with order blocks etc. your wisdom would be much appreciated...
@pauljleroy Жыл бұрын
Welcome mate! I think the biggest mind swtich is changing your perception to looking at the market in terms of liquidity and time - not just price. I find myself falling back into this old habit sometimes. When I am struggling this is generally the reason and making the switch back makes it all clear again. Order blocks is actually a hard ICT concept. There is so much info available on OBs but much of it is not as ICT teaches it. ICT has said that he hasn't even really taught everything to do with OBs yet. In saying this I have a OB video coming out in a week or so which I think should help!
@bradleywise1980 Жыл бұрын
@@pauljleroy very good, thanx Paul. Keep up the great work. I think I will stick with the 1,2,3 tops and bottoms, as we used to call them in the late 80's and look for CoC and Displacement and enter on FVG's.

Question regarding breaker blocks: Must there also be an associated FVG with the breaker block to precisely label it as a true breaker block. Much like Order blovks, there has to be an associated inbalance. Thank you for clarifying.

12:51 why didnt you use the swing to the left ?
@pauljleroy Жыл бұрын
You could use this swing low as it technically fits the rules, however remember the concept behind the breaker block is that we are trying to take advantage of traders who have been trapped long so it is a question of where do we think they would have bought.
