Final Fantasy X Remaster - Boss: Dark Anima

Overall, Dark Anima has the highest HP of eight million of all the other Dark Aeons. Penance though, has a total of thirteen million, which I will get ready very soon!
Anima just stands there still until she gets a turn and uses her skills. Every character should have Ribbon, to avoid Anima's status ailments. The Pain attack kills one character instantly. Like the Magus Sisters; Dark Anima uses Mega-Graviton, and Oblivion deals extremely high damage to the entire party.

AP: 30,000 (40,000)
Drop: Dark Matter (x2) or Master Sphere (x2)
Weapon Drop: Break Damage Limit, Deathstrike, One MP Cost, Triple AP

It takes a lot of time, patience, and understanding how to use spheres, but if you want to beat these dark aeons WITHOUT using Zanmato, you HAVE to have max stats. Break HP Limit is worthless. Break Damage Limit can be gotten through the Monster Arena sidequest, Celestial Weapons sidequests and/or beating Superbosses. (It takes 60 Dark Matter to customize Break Damage Limit onto a weapon and they are a rare drop by Monster Arena bosses and a common drop by Dark Aeons. All you really need in this game is to grind for 255 Strength, 130+ Luck, 170+ Agility, MAAYYBE 255 Defense. Also Auto Haste and Auto Phoenix are your friends as well as Stoneproof and Sleepproof on occasion. LEARN Rikku's Mixing!! Get Attack Reels in Blitzball and make Auto Haste, Auto Potion, Auto Protect and Defense +20% on your armor and your gold! No Break HP Limit No Break MP Limit, and even Ribbon is unnecessary (helpful but not needed).

Tenzen Lewis you need that max 255 defense. Penance you will need to boost up to max cheer to survive hits with max defense and a armor that gives you the largest defense up with max non limit broken hp.

ShadoeFax two days and don tomberry trick max. It doesn’t take long when one battle gives you 99 levels the max you can earn at once. Getting the hp spheres from fighting whatever arena boss gives hp would take longer then all the time spent leveling

Im working on getting 99,999 hp anyways. Idc if it's not needed or how many times I gotta kill poor yojimbo to get the break hp, ribbon, plus two slots for each character. Just keep in mind luck is better than evasion, and accuracy. M.p is next to worthless so those nodes had to be upgraded or removed.

I am 41 years old. I loved this game when it came out on the ps2. The game play, the characters (both good and bad) and story (stories ) are amazing. This is an excellent game, a superb masterpiece. I find myself revisiting it on ps3 and transferred to finish on ps4 now. Not only for nostalgia, but I never got to fight ultima weapon and win. No dark aeons. Or penance. Again, an amazing game. Great fight, was great picking up some tricks as well, tyvm.

I believe that little camera sequence is there to show the admiration and pain she feels at the sacriface Seymour's mother endured in order to help her son, by becoming an Aeon. Having your soul trapped into that... thing, can't be pleseant, expecially seeing how her son turned out, and the deeds he's done. She's such an underestimated and tragic character, and a true testament to motherly love. Shame you have to go out of the canonical storyline borders to find her and acquire Anima, thus making the meeting of her fayth and learning the full story optional, I would have liked for it to be included in the main "quest".

Anima is pretty chill compared to other dark aeons, the rest of them just charge and you and most likely kill your entire party in 1 turn if not prepared, but Anima lets you walk up and talk to her to start the fight...

Unless you're really good at dodging lightning, touching butterflies, and riding chocobos, Tidus Kimarhi's, and Lulu's aren't worth it imo. I've beat most of the optional bosses using just Auron, Yuna, and Wakka.

Ugh I tried going for it on the Remaster, but the chocobo riding, lightning dodging, and butterfly catching are just simply ridiculous means of obtaining something legitimately powerful. The chocobo riding has some of the worst controls imaginable in a game and I literally cannot do it. The lightning dodging is ridiculous because you have to keep a constant mental count while not screwing up. The butterfly game is more fault of poor design and concept. You literally cannot see them half the time, much less tell by the lack of depth perception where they are. Blitzball is a legit challenge worthy of a super weapon, but all these other BS mini games should be taken out of existence lol.

Here it would be useless because dark anima has complete immunity to all break status effects. Its only really relevant afaicr against the monster area juggernaught for farming strength spheres because it has a 99% resistance to armour break, so armour break only successfully procs 1% of the time. Banishing blade will ALWAYS inflict the status tho. :)

Accuracy isn't pointless. That stat will matter if you don't max Luck up. If you leave it at the 115 then you will need full Accuracy to be hitting Crits just as if Luck was near max.

Can you really do this in one day? I have about 300 hours in my FFX save file, and at least 150 of those hours were spent JUST grinding for spheres and Dark Matter by fighting those same monsters in the arena. After all this time, I still haven't maxed out Magic (Jumbo Flan is a big pain) I haven't even started on Luck or HP yet. I've only gotten enough Dark Matter for 3 of my characters to have ribbon (I've honestly fought the Chimerageist so many times I lost count... I only get Dark Matter 1 out of 10 times it seems) If there's something I'm doing wrong, please let me know. I have to replay the game anyway because I moved overseas and my old save file will not work since I'm in a different region now.

For people saying this guy is hacking, I was able to achieve pretty much the same stats using a guide. 99999hp, 999mp (don't need more than that), 255 everything else except for evasion and accuracy. Luck contributes to both and also affects critical hit rate. You have to delete all spheres that don't give you max attributes and replace it with purchased spheres that would give you max attributes (from monster arena guy). It ain't hard searching shit up and following what others have done. Just takes lots of time. I achieved max stats at 140+ hours. I'm not good at the game at all. Just decent at following guides lol

They mean that the move is called "Oblivion" because she's sending you to another plane of existence, and in that plane, she's not bound by chains and can use her full power. I also thought half of her was hiding underground, but this video shows that's not the case

There is probably a glitch or a loophole that the developers has been made. When an Anima is doing an Oblivion attack on another Anima then the Anima doing the attack should see the unchained Anima also on his opponent Anima. It is because, i think, they can access that same matrix they have beneath their bodies. sorry not a native English speaker here.

The full body of the other Anima should also be visible, because when Yuna is performing the final sending for her aeons and Sin, you can see Anima's full body there.

Let's be real, Rikku's overdrive is so perfect for the dark aeons. I love how she can effortlessly unmake Anima's overpowered efforts. Oh, and f*ck you, Anima. This fight burnt me out on the post-game challenges. I was so done I Zanmato'd Penance. I'm sorry, too much bullsh*t to get through that fight; and to think, I fought Yiazmat from FFXII. Too bad, I looked forward to fighting Penance after decking out my party in FFX-PS2-NA back in the day-too overpowered for that game, but hardly this game. Battle, well played, sir!

Penance/Der Richter (The Judge, if my German ain't too rusty). Back in the INT edition, it was described as being some sort of Bevelle superweapon that would be on par with Sin... maybe.

That is Penance, the ultimate superboss of FFX (brought in from the International version). He spawns once you defeat all of the dark aeons, and you obtain the option via the airship map to fight him.

Some of the bosses are actually easier with 9999 HP, but it depends on your strategy, for example if you have 9999 and use auto potion with x-Potions it will always heal you full instantly, but with 99999 HP that wont work. i beat dark Anima and Penance with only 9999 HP.

I just find it kind of funny. I just love you watch Anima just snuff out life just like that for most of her attacks, then you see the overdrive. Like it already wipes out people with barely anything, what could the overdrive be, intrigued. Then it's just like, omg, this thing looks horrifying, what is it gonna do?! Then she breaks her chains and punches you a lot. My special move is I'm gonna punch ya! A lot! Oh, can't forget she explodes the place at the end, which does the same amount as one punch. Make the explosion come off underwhelming. Just hilarious.

Yeah it takes a LOT of time lol, between the sphere grid and the celestial weapons. Dark Anima is arguably the most difficult, because her stats are all around astronomical.

TangibleNought no It doesn’t due to don tomberry trick. One day max for max for the stats strength speed defense agility enough luck to consistently hit ect. Considering one run using the don tonberry trick will get all three of your party members 99 levels and the arena can get you all the spheres you need too. It’s the fastest final fantasy to prep for post game lol. And honestly you don’t need all the weapons you just need like 3 or four for your post game party. Rikku a must have on your post game party is one of the easiest to get. Tidus wakka And yuna are the next best 3. Wakka has the most damaging overdrive attack reels and yuna can be useful because summons. Tidus has the second best attack overdrives. Yuna is also one of the easiest to get. That leaves wakka or Tidus or both if you wanna get both of them for max damage output.

That what I dislike the most on FF10, once you get to the stage of farming stats and maxing shit so you actually have some kind of chance nothing matters anymore. Everyone can cast everything and everything does 99.999 damage. No roles to play, because everyone is a jack of all trades.

@@x-Abraham-x2 yes, a high level luck can make you Always crit and hit anything, and also dodge Attacks(but it isn't a big deal since a lot of enemy Attack can't be avoided in the post game) If you want to farm luck, tidus and wakka OD helps a lot to shorts time, One Attack reels perfectly executed+blitz ace are enough to farm fortune sphere from that huge bubble for example
