I only saw Penny once. He was with the Flip team then, at the Santa Rosa skatepark in CA. He aired out of the small bowl and over the park’s chain linked fence. Then he disappeared to smoke. Must’ve been mid 90s I wanna say. Tony Trujillo was there too, he was just one of the grom regulars back then though.

Great video not a skater ( a writer) but whilst doing 6yrs thrasher was the only magazine i could read that had some graff in it , road trips , insights on an underground subculture Etc ..was really a blessing at that time. Ill always remember an interview with someone (a death wish rider i think)who had met up with tom somewhere abroad and was explaining how he was always travelling had no bank account etc and seemed like a true free spirit ( what kinda pissed me off was the interviewers condescending tone about his lifestyle ) anyway i can see in tom someone who is totally passionate about his skating where money means nothing... A rare thing in pro skating i think...Anyway rant over😂 Just stoked i can watch KZbin again haha
