I was an A-10 pilot, and I can say without question this model truly depicts what the jet looks like...and in 1/72 scale! Amazing work...a few minor inaccuracies, but I'll keep those to myself. FANTASTIC job bring the Hawg to life!

Thank you for your service. I have got to ask. Was the plane that dirty on the bottom from the gun? I’m sure there wasn’t a snappy plane wash out in the desert. Unless you guys took one with you.

@@dflo4165 When we were deployed, the entire front of the jet would become ABSOLUTELY FILTHY. Not to mention the rest of the aircraft...the paint was flat and rough, so any dirt/dust/residue would grind in and be difficult to remove. Stateside our maintainers would do a good job washing and keeping them clean, but there is little you could do at many deployed locations.

@@charliealpha11f3b2 I thank you again for your service. During my 20 in the Navy, I liked taking trips up to Miramar just outside San Diego. I saw the aircraft there from F-14’s to F-18’s. Most had a dirty appearance from mechanics handling. I used that for weathering of the kits I made. Nothing as close to the A-10 in this video. I still have an unfinished 1/35 A-10 in a big plastic box. The cardboard one didn’t last that long. I just cut the front artwork which sits at the bottom. What an amazing amount of detail he puts into his builds. Very impressive!!

@@petarkrulj1760 😆You can't be serious. Yes, the box costs like 18 EUR (not to mention other expenses) but you have to spend dozens of hours on such kit which means the price of such model is at least several hundred euros. If it is let's say competition worthy. But since we are talking about Plasmo here his model probably costs like several thousand euros. A popular name on KZbin can rise the price of his work quite significantly.

@@Ishizaky1 Well, I think you are right. 😆 But anyway the box cost like 18 EUR. Don't know what else you want to add to the additional cost, but with even with additional expandable materials like paints you won't exceed 100$. That's too much.

He has ever since been a collector of A10 items, he even has a mock bullet from the massive gun! he had a stroke about 5 years ago and he was always into building plastic models as am I. Plasmo was the first channel that made me realize that I would never, ever get even remotely this close to perfection, so perhaps it’s for the best that I don’t try. But he makes mostly military models and I’m kind of a car guy. Then I started watching A4 garage and that was that. His miura, DS and 300 SL builds were pure art (the dashboard on the 300SL alone was just mind blowing.)

After my first combat tour in Afghanistan in 2002 we returned to our home base at Ft Bragg, North Carolina. The A-10 wing that we had to support our operations during that deployment was from Pope AFB, North Carolina which is connected to Bragg. The A-10s’ flight path at takeoff from Pope took them directly over our division’s (82nd ABN DIV) area of Bragg. The pilots would tilt their wings in salute every time they flew overhead. The paratroopers and pilots gained a close connection over the deployment and following months before we we deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in 2003. We often ate chow and hung out together in the states, so those pilots were even more fierce in providing air support to us in Fallujah. Many of us owe our lives to those pilots.

@ oh dude my platoon left two days after the Blackwater Bridge incident. I bet we did see each other at some point. When we got home we did like hearing that you guys were giving the insurgents hell after we left. I do recall butting heads with a Gunny before we left. I called him sergeant, he lost his mind, so I kept calling him sergeant. 😂 That interaction ended when a rocket hit and wounded a few guys outside the AT&T call center trailer. We both jumped into action helping the wounded and I don’t recall bumping into him again. Man I’m having tons of memories flooding my mind now. I actually miss it so much.

Simply amazing. I get both inspired to start building and dishartened that my builds never will look this good. Ha ha. I love that you take the time to show your tricks and that you explain why you do what you do. I have learned so much about modelpainting from you. Thank you!

I’m not a model builder but I think it’s cool. I did it when I was a boy. I watch a few model channels this one probably impresses me the most by far, they are all great though. It’s so impressive his models are museum quality. It’s not just the skill building it’s the research to make them as accurate as possible. Looks fun, maybe one day I’d like to try it again. My father did locomotives and model railroads stuff. I have tons of new old stock he never got to, ancient models from the 1960’s and 70’s, many the buildings made from wood and still sealed in the boxes. Tons of cars and engines. I don’t even know what to do with it all. I’ll keep some because it’s dope. I’ll never throw in the dumpster though, that would be disgraceful.

I can't say the Air Force doesn't let its planes get *that* dirty, but whoever the crew chief for this plane is is probably mad as hell (and in trouble) for letting it get to such a degree! lol Excellent work, as always thouhg. Love your content!

I used to watch these things fly over Myrtle Beach when I was a kid. They've since closed down the base. It's one of the hallmarks of everyone's vacation to the beach. We would be eating over at Calabash and you'd look out a window and see them doing loops upside down.

A few of my friends are Black Snakes, they get to work on the A-10 all the time. There is definitely a few inaccuracies but as someone that has probably never seen the avionics and other systems of the hog. You did a great job
