Seriously dude, every single video you go above and beyond the call of duty to make a visually stunning and inspiring model. From the scratch building, using historical photos to make sure you get even the landing leg well to look perfect, all the way to using those same historical photos to make sure you the Era camouflage schemes spot on. Dude, I wait with baited breath for each new video and look back through your old ones for even more inspiration for my own projects. thank you so much for your amazing videos and keep up the great work, you rock man

Your work to upgrade the wheel wells and landing gears is a triumph. The best bench skill of the decade is your landing light lens trick. I went to my bench right away and made one for a MK IX Spitfire I just finished. The kit supplied lens is well hidden on the floor at my summer cottage. Many thanks for your posts. Your weathering skills are starting to 'rub off" on me.

@idaemonplasmo6 жыл бұрын
Děkuji za pochvalu. Ohledně toho opotřebení jsem zvolil variantu what if. Každopádně připadalo mi to pořád nějak nudné a moc jednotné.
@rotvikbenn71376 жыл бұрын

Nice work. I read a book a million years ago by a German Night Fighter pilot called "Duel under the stars" one of the best books I ever read, It introduced me to the concept of "no good guys in a war". He went into detail about the bombing of Dresden which was, without doubt, a war crime.
@rp81335 жыл бұрын
oh year, the Dresden bombardment... the big problem of talking about this war crime is that there never have been any war crimes done by the US or other allied in WWII. so - by decree - they never existed. but, just for the Dresden case there were reports given by eye witnesses. and there were messages given by some nordic newspapers that illustrated the real story about that night in Dresden. this city - at that time - was a shelter point for many humans, outstanding most of them noncombatants - but civilians. so tell me some one what did the bombers expect to bomb that night? what did the air fighters expect to shot at the shores of the river Elbe? military - really? nope, they got a full hit onto the civilians - and they knew it! and - as i guess - it was intended.
@hubristicmystic5 жыл бұрын
@@rp8133 Yes, you just defined terrorism. Bomber Command (it was the British, not the Americans) were deliberately killing civilians en mass, to demoralise their enemy. It didn't achieve this result. By this stage of the war all humanity was pushed aside. The Americans did the same thing (this time successfully) with nuclear weapons in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Bizarrely these two nuclear attacks were less lethal than some of the phosphorous attacks such as Dresden. Many, if not all, of the bomber crews did not want to slaughter children by dropping clouds of burning phosphorous onto their homes. But they were forced to do so by their leaders. War is the ultimate act of human stupidity. The most stupid part is; the "victor" gets to write the history books and leave out the parts that show they too, were monsters. When you ignore history, you are doomed to repeat it.
@rgj804410 ай бұрын
You are both conveniently forgetting the London blitz where the Nazis bombed nothing but civilians so what’s the difference? This is the problem with armchair critics like you people who know little about the reality of the situation. My opinion.
@jamesbraine6 жыл бұрын
I learn so much from you. One thing I do that gives a nice effect is to actually scratch the paint instead of painting on scratches. I add a gun metal wash inside the scratch. I dont scratch deep, just enough to dent the paint.
@PanzergrauModels6 жыл бұрын
Sounds like an interesting technique, James!
@matteoreich75396 жыл бұрын
nice idea! I personally use Salt Technique to make scratches and chipping too, but it is a bit difficult sometimes
@idaemonplasmo6 жыл бұрын
It is a useful technique for heavy weathered japanese models or AFV, but I do not recommend if you need only a few scratches. You can easy overdone scratches and result is more or less random. Also, it requires more layers, and the whole process is time-consuming. However, it is handy technique and is good to know it.

Great work! Just one note though the antlers on the front are not for radio but for the radar detector . You can see the radar scope on the top of the back cockpit instrument panel.The Heinkel Uhu " Owl " was a night fighter and the radar equipment was used to spot and attack enemy bombers after dark. Very advanced tech at that time. Now i hope that any body can figure out why the engines have such long exhaust pipes!

I ordered instrument panel dials from WWI which work pretty good and come in a variety of sizes and black or white color. Detailed enough to show dial increments and hands. They seem to work down to 1/48 and can combine with hand painting if needed. I am not a good modeler but thought I might help.

Such a sexy plane. Its armament was off the charts powerful (20 & 30mm cannon in various configs) and it was FAST. And you're right about its camo. So many people assume it's grey blotches over light blue, when it would be so much more logical (ie easier) for the groundcrews to do squiggly lines of blue over a grey base.
