The Senator who wants to ban medical marijuana initiatives forever is back.
His SJR 101 passed the Senate by 2/3, but died in the House. So now he's in the House to create a bill that will pass there, and certainly pass in the Senate.
His bill would put drug prohibition in the state constitution and make it so it would take a 2/3 majority vote of the Legislature to ever legalize any prohibited drug.
In other words, it would make any future citizen medical marijuana initiative impossible.
Worse, it would cancel out the medical marijuana initiative that we are currently gathering signatures for now. As Sen. Grow admits, if medical marijuana and his drug prohibition amendment are on the same ballot, if his prohibition wins, it beats medical marijuana no matter what.
Sen. Grow openly states that this is the only way Idaho can beat back either a medical marijuana initiative or the "pot corruption" that would cause more than half of Idaho's legislators-his own colleagues-to support medical marijuana.
